Four independent findings, each at its root.
sys-svc-container: tasks/00_core/gpu.yml included 'nvidia.yml' by bare name,
but the role is entered through tasks_from: 00_core.yml, so a relative include
resolves against tasks/ instead of next to the including file. Every sibling
include in 00_core.yml already carries the 00_core/ prefix.
web-app-seaweedfs: c61b29bd16 made services.seaweedfs.enabled and .shared
literal and stated that the variant pin follows, but never touched
meta/variants.yml. Both variants still repeated that literal, which
variants-static-override counts as four offenders. They set exactly what the
base declares, so they go. The base keeps the literal and regains the
dynamic-flag marker the console split dropped at e8e89d293d: the flag's only
job is joining the engine's shared_net, and its false branch yields a console
container that cannot start, which the lint names as a legitimate exception.
docs: the i8-tuner skill landed without its cheatsheet row, which the skills
coverage guard reads as a missing skill.
The remaining three files are that pass's own formatter output: quote
normalisation in nvidia.yml and line wrapping in two test files.
Not covered here: the two hallucinated URLs in locale/ko/LC_MESSAGES/docs.po,
because a translation run is writing the catalogs.

Five conflicts, all resolved by combining both sides rather than taking one. main moved Moodle cURL egress and the debug level out of environment variables into site settings applied through cfg.php, and that restructure met three places where this branch had changed the same lines.
vars/main.yml carried the only resolution with a real decision in it. main expects MOODLE_EGRESS_ALLOWED_PORTS to be a list and joins it; this branch had turned that name into a comma-joined string to feed the environment variable main is removing, so keeping both sides verbatim would have evaluated string plus list. The settings block now reads the list this branch introduced, MOODLE_EGRESS_WEB_PORTS, and the string is dropped with the variable it fed. MOODLE_PROXY_EXCLUDED_HOSTS and the objectfs block stay, since neither belongs to the egress restructure.
env.j2 loses the egress and debug lines and keeps the SOCKS proxy block, which is this branch and which main never had. config.php loses the debug block and keeps the objectfs block for the same reason; the grep that settles it is that main carries no reference to MOODLE_EGRESS, MOODLE_DEBUG or OBJECTFS at all. 01_manager_ops.yml takes the new settings task. The cheatsheet conflict was additive on both sides, so all three rows stay.
Checked after resolving, because both are documented traps of this merge: no duplicate YAML key across the seven merged YAML files, and no nocheck marker lost, with the counts matching both parents in every resolved file.

The 16.0.0 entry pkgmgr wrote on top of CHANGELOG.md uses "-" bullets
while every older entry uses "*". MD004's default "consistent" style takes
the marker of the first list in a file, so lint-markdown reported 400
MD004 findings in CHANGELOG.md and the pre-push gate refused the release
push.
MD004 is now pinned to "dash", the marker pkgmgr and the changelog skill
write, and make autoformat (markdownlint-cli2 --fix) converted the lists
of the 72 files that still used "*". Only list markers changed.

OpenSSF Scorecard reports no fuzzer integration (code scanning alert
507, issue #853). tests/fuzz/_yaml_bootstrap.py is an atheris harness
that feeds arbitrary input to utils.yaml_bootstrap.load_block and fails
whenever the reader accepts a document that load_yaml_str parses
differently or rejects. That is the contract the module's docstring
states, and the existing property test only samples it. The leading
underscore keeps unittest discovery from importing it, because atheris
is only installed with the fuzz extra.
cron-security-fuzz.yml runs the harness for 15 minutes every Sunday and
on demand, on ubuntu-latest, and uploads crashing inputs as the
fuzz-crashes artifact. atheris 3.1.0 ships x86_64 manylinux wheels for
CPython 3.12 to 3.14 only, so it lives in its own `fuzz` extra and
stays out of every other install path. tests/fuzz/ is not part of
`make test`.

A role without a container stack gets guide mode host, and the README generator renders a git clone plus make install block for it instead of a docker run. The shape guard from 9aa65a7731 refused exactly that block, so every row replaying such a role died on "the block starts no container". That commit claimed the guard was exercised in both directions; what was exercised is that it fires, not that it fires only on something unpublishable. The same commit had dropped the checkout mount the host shape needs. The harness now dispatches on the shape: a docker run block keeps running on the stack host and deploying over ssh into the target, a git clone block is replayed inside the target against the mounted tree, and a block of neither shape still fails because nothing says which machine it addresses. The documentation that still described the two shapes is back in line with the code.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
The harness rewrote HOST to localhost, and the provisioner turns localhost into ansible_connection local, so the replayed deploy configured the throwaway container the recipe starts rather than any server. PID 1 there is the entrypoint, not systemd, and sys-svc-container refused with "PID 1 is infinito, not systemd" in all five rows that deploy web-app-docs alongside their own role.
The block now runs on the stack host and deploys over ssh into a target container that carries systemd and an ssh server and nothing else. sshd.sh installs that server and authorizes the key pair the run generates; machine.sh reads the target bridge address with container inspect, substitutes it for HOST, and only then runs the placeholder guard, because the address does not exist before that point. The target joins the default bridge so the recipe nested docker run can reach it, and that bridge has no DNS, so the value is an address.
PREPARE and engine.sh both fall away. The target is bare on purpose: the replayed deploy installs docker-ce itself, which is the claim under test, so the restart collision engine.sh worked around can no longer occur. Its /var/lib/docker stays a named volume so the installed daemon writes to a real filesystem instead of stacking fuse-overlayfs on fuse-overlayfs.
A shape guard refuses a block that starts no container, because this harness would otherwise configure the stack host itself; that guard was exercised in both directions. Teardown now also removes the generated key pair and the inventory the recipe writes, the latter only when the run created the directory. A schema in the test folder documents the flow.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
A host-install block replays a deploy that runs sys-svc-container, which replaces the distribution engine with docker-ce and restarts docker.service. That restart fails with "failed to load listeners: no sockets found via socket activation" when the running docker.socket belongs to the package being replaced.
init.sh no longer installs an engine. engine.sh installs and starts one inside the running machine, and machine.sh pipes it in only for a block that nests a `docker run`, which needs a daemon before the deploy inside it installs anything.
The replay-image echo now reads the token before `bash -c`, so a mirrored pin prints instead of nothing.

Routes disk and /tmp cleanup through the cleanup skill and adds the repository rules: compose-project attribution, the shared cache stack that is never a candidate, act and swarm keep rules, teardown targets with what each destroys, and the targets that must never run as a cleanup step. web-svc-css becomes web-svc-design and owns the configuration that lived in group_vars/all/13_design.yml. Consumers switch their css service key to design, and sys-front-inj-css becomes sys-front-inj-design. javascript stays an independent key; a role's optional design.js.j2 is injected together with the design and CSP-hashed like the functional script.
An in-repo OKLCH lookup replaces colorscheme_generator. From design.colors.base alone it derives surfaces, text, borders, the primary and status fills with their on-colors, hover and active states and a dedicated dark palette; a unit test proves WCAG AA, and AAA for body text, across six base colors in both modes. Semantic --design-* tokens replace --color-NN-SS in every role stylesheet. The shared element styles sit in the cascade layer infinito-design, so an app's own design system always wins and takes the palette through a variable mapping in its role stylesheet or through its own theming mechanism.
design.logo and design.title resolve globally from web-svc-design or per role from its design entry, and false or 0 disables the replacement. The design_assets action renders the logo lockup per slot as SVG, PNG and ICO, and the legacy title keys move into the design entries.
Three roles carry the design end to end. The dashboard takes logo, favicon and title from the generator and replaces the hard-coded port-ui colors. Gitea maps its theme variables onto the tokens and mounts the generated logo and a branded start page. Nextcloud receives primary color, logo, name and slogan through occ theming and ships no stylesheet.
make design-sync re-renders the static design files of a deployed app, make design-gallery captures before and after screenshots in light, dark, desktop and mobile, and make design-queue orders the roles that are due for a design pass. The i8-designer skill and docs/agents/action/design.md describe that loop.

Fourteen real conflicts plus the 66 generated READMEs.
utils/cache/files.py and its test: both sides added a skip-dir rule, resolved
as a union so the root `build/` prune and the per-root walk key coexist.
plugins/lookup/database.py and postgres_libraries.py: main's added lookups kept,
with get_entity_name renamed to entity_name as this branch renamed it.
roles/web-app-{mailu,matrix}/meta/services.yml: main's `covers: [email]` and its
MAIL_PROVIDER-gated email entry, plus this branch's gitlab/jira/n8n/jitsi
consumers, which the merge base carried on neither side.
group_vars/all/17_resource.yml: this branch's lookup('resource', ...) refactor;
main's single added literal is already covered by _POSTGRES_MAX_LOCKS_PER_TRANSACTION.
docs/requirements/035-mcp-proxy-expansion.md: this branch moved the design into
ADR 0003, so the requirement keeps only the user story and the criteria. Main's
delta inside the moved block was two new roles, carried into the ADR audit:
web-app-stalwart as adapter_candidate, svc-net-tor-smtp as privileged_control_plane.
The no_surface total said 99 while its own subcategories summed to 112.
inventories/development/default.yml: biber keeps no explicit email. Both sides fixed
the same CI failure; this branch fixed it in _apply_account_defaults, which renders
biber@{{ DOMAIN_PRIMARY }} (utils/cache/users/__init__.py:68) — byte-identical to
the address main hardcoded, so the inventory line is a second copy of one fact.
roles/web-app-{gitlab,keycloak}/files/playwright/playwright.spec.js and
roles/web-app-gitlab/templates/playwright.env.j2: union of both import sets, with
requireDotenvValue kept over decodeDotenvQuotedValue for CANONICAL_DOMAIN because
an empty value must fail rather than match every substring.
The 66 role READMEs take this side: aceb5295ef moved Cosmos, Quick Setup and
Credits to the documentation build, and test_readme.py now rejects them in a
committed README. Main's prose edits inside them are carried over by hand (the
Mailu deprecation banner, Mailu -> Stalwart in erpnext and zammad), and the two
READMEs main added fresh are stripped of the three generated sections.
roles/web-app-sphinx/README.md stays deleted; 6eb9a59d14 merged that role into
web-app-docs. The root README's generated role table was regenerated from the
merged metadata.

A push to main whose head commit starts with "Release version " (the subject pkgmgr writes for every release) now cancels the main run in progress, so the release starts at once instead of queueing behind it. Every other push to main still leaves the running pipeline alone.
When the pushed main commit carries a vX.Y.Z tag, the orchestrator runs with chunk_gate false: every chunk deploys and reports, and a failed chunk still turns the run red, so release-guard and release-version stay skipped.
entry-cancel-superseded.yml mirrors the new rule behind its push guard, parenthesised so && does not bind the release clause; the mirror test composes the expected rule the same way.

7ed60e1fc2 renamed the Assumption 10 heading in security.md, and the
link in sandbox.md still used the short #assumption-10 fragment, which
no heading slug matches. It now carries the full slug of the new
heading, the form 4efa892706 on feature/store-i18n uses for the old
one, so that branch's merge resolves the line by keeping main's side.

An external report flagged the Bash(*) allow in the committed
.claude/settings.json. Bash(*) stays: every command still runs inside
the OS sandbox, and deny and ask take precedence over it. Reviewing the
file against its own documentation turned up two real gaps instead.
security.md and settings.md cite an rm -rf* deny rule as the guard
against `rm -rf .` wiping the worktree and .git/, but the rule was lost
in ee30f6d446 when the deny list was rewritten. It is back.
denyRead covered ~/.aws, ~/.config/gcloud, ~/.gnupg and ~/.kube only.
~/.docker/config.json holds registry logins inline, ~/.git-credentials
and ~/.netrc hold plaintext credentials, and the default ~/.ssh/id_*
keys were readable because Assumption 10 kept ~/.ssh open for an
ask-gated git push that has since moved to deny. All nine paths are
denied now. The rest of ~/.ssh stays readable, so SSH fetches keep
known_hosts and authenticate through the agent socket. Sandboxed docker
calls pull anonymously and print a config warning on stderr.

The instructions test brings up a machine per role, so it can only ever
replay one guide. Which one it picked was a side effect of ordering: the
lookup returned the first invokable peer the round listed, and on a CI row
that is the role under test only because the row's apps happen to read
<role>,web-app-docs.
It now reads APP_ID, which the deploy workflow already sets to the row's app
and which the swarm routine already documents as the app under test. A round
that carries no APP_ID, or one whose app publishes no Production block, draws
an invokable peer at random instead, so a local round covers a different
guide each time rather than always the first one the inventory lists.
Ansible runs inside the infinito container rather than on the runner, and
that exec passes an explicit allowlist, so the name arrives only where it is
forwarded. Two seams carry it: _FORWARDED_ENV_KEYS, which covers CI and the
local initialize and reinstall verbs, and the update verb's own docker exec,
which assembles its arguments without that CLI.
The pin is tolerant rather than strict. APP_ID is set on every deploy row and
not only on documented ones, so refusing an app that publishes no guide would
let a generic variable abort a deploy.
Measured: the draw is observed over 200 rounds rather than assumed, and the
forwarding is negative-controlled, removing the key and watching the new test
fail on that key alone.

The replay of a role's "### Production" block moves out of the CI guide
scripts and into the documentation role itself. The block is read off the
rendered page over HTTP, so what runs is what a reader copies, and the role
that publishes the page is also the role that proves it.
scripts/github/guide/{one,compose_deploy,host_deploy}.sh and
cli/build/docs/readme/production.py are gone with the workflow step that
called them. The instructions marker now only adds web-app-docs to the row's
apps; test-e2e-cli discovers the role through its new templates/test.env.j2
and runs files/test/test.sh.
The block runs in a throwaway machine, never on the stack host. compose.yml
starts one service built from files/test/Dockerfile, whose base is
INFINITO_PARENT_IMAGE out of the mounted checkout's .env, so the machine is
the stack host's own distribution and the replay exercises the installation
instead of a prebuilt image. files/test/init.sh adds an init when the base
carries none and keeps the full -Syu that ef0f03ea98 established for arch.
scripts/tests/workspace/base/01_install.sh then prepares the machine before
the block runs.
Nothing is skipped any more. The previous host-install branch exited 0 and
passed silently over 65 of the 178 invokable roles; a block without a
"docker run" is now replayed against systemd in that same machine, with the
git clone dropped in favour of the mounted tree under test.
The target role comes from the new guide_role lookup, which reads
list_invokable_app_ids() rather than matching role-name prefixes, and falls
back to the asking role when the round deploys nothing else. deployment.py
grows running_apps() so both lookups share one definition of what the round
deploys. required_by_coverage.role_is_invokable drops its own walk over
categories.yml and delegates to the same SPOT; measured equal across all 280
roles.
Carried in the same index, because the refactor pass ran over this change
set: library.py splits into sites.py and build_queue.py mixins, builder.py
hands translated_languages to catalogs.py and folds three repeated log-tail
and state writes, and placeholders.py becomes a facade over spans.py,
repairs.py and damage.py. No test changed for those splits, and the two
ref-resolution dicts builder.py carried are replaced by _wanted_ref, which
also stops hashing the deployed tree on every tag build.
Verified: 7132 unit and lint tests pass over the whole tree, the guide_role
lookup renders through a real Templar, the base image resolves from .env,
and compose config validates the service. The replay itself has never been
executed; that needs a deploy of web-app-docs.

Three anchors were wrong, and none of them was guessed: myst builds them
with default_slugify, which appends a hyphen where a heading ends in an
emoji. Computed against the real headings, 'Investor Relations 💹' becomes
'investor-relations-', and two links additionally named a section that does
not exist - the deploy guide has 'Pinning Variants (Single Or Bundle)', not
'Pinning A Single Variant', and the playwright page has 'Triggers', not
'Scenarios'.
The semaphore requirement still told the reader to resolve Open Questions
into Confirmed Decisions after that section was removed.
In the documentation guide, '[here](...)' is an example inside a sentence
about link text, not a link; it is code now.
The contributing index listed tools/makefile for a file named make.md, and
two links in sys-ctl-alm-telegram pointed at roles/, which carries no README
for the directory resolver to find.

One conflict, in the generated role table of README.md: main's Open WebUI row lists neither the Agent Broker nor Qdrant among its integrations, because main does not carry that wiring. This branch does - web-app-openwebui/meta/services.yml declares both flags - so the branch's row is what the generator derives from the merged tree and main's is simply stale.
The resolution was not regenerated, because a deploy was holding the compose container at the time and make docs runs inside it. The next quality gate regenerates the table; an unexpected diff there is a finding, not noise.

An agent cannot see whether the operator committed on top of its last
commit in the meantime. An amend then rewrites a commit it never
authored: it happened to a signed, tagged release commit, which only a
soft reset onto the original recovered. Follow-up changes land as a new
commit instead.

CI judges every row on a clean host but hands back a log hours later; the local stack answers in minutes and can be exec'd into, but it is one host with one slot and never covers five distros. Running them together is not an optimisation, it is how the two blind spots cancel: the disagreement between the lanes is the finding, and the runbook says what each direction of disagreement usually means.
The CI lane is dispatched by invoking i8-ci-trigger-priority, never by assembling a line here. Two skills with their own idea of what a verification row must pin is exactly how a run comes back green for a combination nobody chose.
The parallelism is between machines, never inside the local lane, where iteration/compose.md requires deploys to stay serial. The loop interval is 30 minutes because a deploy row takes 47 in compose and 84 in swarm at the median, so a shorter tick mostly re-reads in-progress jobs.
The trap it names first: entry-manual-steer.yml declares the branch's concurrency group with cancel-in-progress, so a second dispatch while the triage loop is armed cancels the very run being triaged, and the loop then reports every unfinished row as a failure that never reached a verdict.
The local lane is pointed at what CI cannot settle: a fix that landed after the source run, a pin that came from a pool default, and failures about container state rather than placement. Placement, overlay networking and replica counts do not reproduce in compose.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
The measurement and the dispatch flags landed in the two previous commits and are useless without the order they go in. This is that order: collect at most 20 candidates, run verdicts first and open root causes after; measure the axes instead of asserting them; pin the cheap value only where the axis is not part of the question; validate; dispatch with the workspace test and the chunk gate off; then report which question the run will not answer.
The filesystem gets its own step because it is the only axis with a host condition: resolve.sh serves a kind only when the host kernel carries it, while the distro images carry just the userland, and a pool or token of exactly one kind is read as a demand, so the row fails instead of substituting. It is pinned only when the samples support it and no fallback was reported.
Measured on this branch on 2026-09-23: compose 47m against swarm 83m, clearnet 52m against tor 79m, over six runs. Those numbers live here rather than in the policy files, where nobody would recompute them.
The validation step is written as mandatory because it earned it: run against a 20-token line it caught 'web-svc-openresty', which does not exist under that name, and separated it from 'web-app-minio', which warns because its lifecycle is eol. A dispatch would have lost the first candidate silently and still reported green.

A pull request against main extracts the core and docs domains, fans out
over the languages LibreTranslate supports, and opens one translation PR
per language against the branch that introduced the strings. Only the
entries a catalog leaves empty or fuzzy reach the translator.
The job matrix and the translator read the same list through
translatable(), so a code cannot enter the matrix and then be refused by
the run it starts.
The pipeline stays off until CI_ENABLE_AUTO_TRANSLATIONS is set, and
pull requests from a fork are skipped because the app token cannot push
to their head branch.

CLAUDE.md and GEMINI.md existed as per-runtime extensions of AGENTS.md, and
only one of them carried anything at all: GEMINI.md stated that it had no
additions, while CLAUDE.md held rules that bind every runtime anyway — the
permission announcement, the make-over-raw preference, the loop, chain and
heredoc bans, the stream-the-log-to-/tmp rule, the CI-evidence rule, the push
ban and the comment rule. A rule that binds every agent does not belong in one
agent's file. AGENTS.md absorbs them and now states that no tool-specific
extension file exists; agents whose runtime auto-loads a different filename
reach it through their own configuration instead.
The filenames were machinery as much as prose. The PR templates, the branch
and pull-request scope tables, the settings and security docs that justified
the loop deny by "the textual CLAUDE.md rule", six requirement documents whose
push instruction linked ../../CLAUDE.md, and a test docstring citing the
shell-loop ban all named them, and now name AGENTS.md.
scripts/meta/resolve/pr/scope.sh deliberately keeps matching CLAUDE.md and
GEMINI.md: this change deletes them, and without those patterns the change
itself would not classify as agent-scope.

The two install workflows differed in a name, one env key and the script they
ran, and the orchestrator wired each separately. They become one file.
The pkgmgr half goes with them. Installing through the package manager is no
longer the plan, and the images have already moved: since the switch to
base-images every container is built FROM base-<distro>, so that test was the
last thing still pulling a pkgmgr image. The pkgmgr CLI itself is untouched;
roles keep calling it.
The mermaid graph in .github/workflows/README.md named both files as nodes and
as edges, which test_workflow_references caught after the rename. The workflow
table in the docs follows.
Verified: actionlint accepts every workflow, and 263 tests pass across
tests/lint/repository, tests/lint/filesystem and tests/integration/meta/workflows.

An unset secret or variable resolves to the empty string, not to an error, so
an undocumented one is invisible twice: the administrator cannot know to set it,
and the run that needed it degrades quietly instead of failing. The guard reads
every ${{ secrets.X }} and ${{ vars.X }} out of .github/workflows and demands
the name in the page that owns it, secrets.md or configuration.md.
It compares the reference against the page rather than the page against itself,
so it also catches a doc naming something the workflows no longer read.
Three gaps were already there. DOCKERHUB_USERNAME and DOCKERHUB_TOKEN
authenticate the image mirror against Docker Hub and lift the anonymous
pull-rate limit; both are declared required: false and the login step is gated
on them being non-empty, so their absence does not fail a run, it walks the
mirror into the rate limit. Neither was documented anywhere.
PLAYWRIGHT_KEEP_ALL is the sharper one: configuration.md listed
INFINITO_PLAYWRIGHT_KEEP, which is the name the workflow forwards it under, not
the name an administrator sets. Following the documentation produced a variable
nothing reads.
Commented-out lines are skipped. cron-security-scorecard.yml carries
`# repo_token: ${{ secrets.SCORECARD_TOKEN }}` as an option nobody has taken,
and demanding a doc row for it would describe an input no run asks for.
GITHUB_TOKEN is exempt in _PROVIDED_SECRETS because GitHub mints it per run; it
is not administered and cannot be set. A second case asserts the scan finds
workflow files at all, so the guard cannot pass vacuously.

The gateway could reach exactly one remote provider, through a bare
OPENROUTER_API_KEY group_var with an empty-string default and an `{% if %}`
around a single hardcoded model entry. OpenAI and Anthropic had no path at all.
All three are now declared in roles/svc-ai-litellm/meta/secrets.yml, which
mapping.py already calls the application config schema, so a key lands at
applications.svc-ai-litellm.secrets.credentials.<provider>_api_key like every
other credential. Each carries the `type` and `regex` its value must satisfy and
defaults to the central API.<provider>.api_key block, which keeps one
operator-facing place to fill a provider in while the role owns the shape.
type and regex had to become real to be worth declaring. 192 `validation:`
blocks sit in the role schemas today and not one line of Python enforces them,
so a `regex` would have joined a pile of decoration. validate_supplied_value
now runs on every path a value arrives from outside — the --set override, a
value already in the inventory, and the value standing next to a `default:`.
A generated value stays exempt because the algorithm that produced it is named
by the same schema and generate_value takes no schema argument. min_length is
deliberately left unenforced: the generators ignore it, so holding them to it
would fail where nothing is wrong.
The pattern is written for the paste, not for the vendor. OpenAI moved issuance
from sk- to sk-proj- without notice and Anthropic issues sk-ant-api03-; a schema
pinning a prefix would reject a valid key and abort inventory creation. `\S{20,}`
accepts every form those three issue today and one nobody has announced, and
rejects a trailing newline, an embedded space, a truncated copy and a
<placeholder>. A key pasted into the wrong provider's slot is caught at deploy
instead, where the route it publishes answers nothing.
The gateway iterates one LITELLM_REMOTE_BACKENDS list instead of three `{% if %}`
blocks; config.yaml.j2 and env.j2 read the same list and selectattr('key')
decides. LITELLM_CHAT_MODEL falls back to the first configured remote alias
rather than to a hardcoded openrouter/auto.
For CI the keys travel as INFINITO_API_{OPENAI,ANTHROPIC,OPENROUTER}_KEY through
default.env, the passthrough allowlist, the infinito service in compose.yml, the
workflow env block and the development inventory. The compose leg is not
optional: the env lint rejected the change without it, because a key the
inventory reads but compose does not forward resolves to empty inside the
container with no error. The workflow reads `secrets.X || vars.X` so a variable
works as asked while a secret wins, which matters because a variable is not
masked and the development inventory sets MASK_CREDENTIALS_IN_LOGS: false.
An unset key is not an error anywhere: the provider's routes stay unpublished
and the CLI test asserts their absence rather than skipping.

RFC 6761 reserves .test for testing and .example for documentation, and the
project's own domain was doing both jobs under the documentation name. It is
what default.env hands every local deploy and what the test fixtures assert
against, so it is a testing name.
Rename it wherever it stands for the running machine: the environment
defaults, the development inventory, the workspace and trust scripts, the test
suites, and the four documents that describe real behaviour - the DNS mapping
to loopback, the browser CA trust, WSL2 resolution. Those documents would have
started lying the moment default.env changed.
The sandbox allowlist moves with them, since egress is matched per pattern and
nothing resolves the old name any more, and the sandbox document that mirrors
that list follows it.
Two places keep .example on purpose: the link-style sample in the
documentation guide, which is documentation about documentation, and every
generic fixture name elsewhere in the suite - a.example, foo.example and their
kin. Those are a larger sweep of their own and are not touched here.

The instructions test held a job of its own that picked one random role per
run, so a README's Production block was proven roughly once per 265 roles.
The replay now rides on a deploy row instead: no extra runner, and every role
the sweep touches gets its documented one-command deploy exercised.
The row is the role's smallest variant -- fewest services enabled -- because
that is the shape the README describes, and it is chosen among the variants
the sweep actually deploys, so a row cut as redundant coverage cannot silently
drop the role from the test. A role qualifies only when its README carries a
Production block and the guide's own mode is one the role runs and tests.
The marked entry carries the guide mode in `instructions` and a 📖 in its job
title, between the variant number and a priority ⭐. The guide mode is
independent of the mode the rotation gave the row: a swarm row still replays
in compose. The step runs last in the deploy job, after the swarm teardown,
because the replay deploys the role a second time and needs the runner's
ports.
call-test-instructions.yml, cli.meta.ci.guide_select and the `instructions`
dispatch input go with it. `redundant()` moves next to the marker so the
chunker, the plan table and the marker share one definition.
The plan table trades its 📊 Weight column for 📖 Instructions; nothing read
the weight any more, so it leaves the matrix entries too.

Conflict: roles/web-app-bridgy-fed/files/Dockerfile
Both sides extended the header comment. main also replaced the upstream
checkout, `git clone --depth=1 --branch "${BRIDGY_REF}"`, with git init plus a
fetch of the single ref; this branch never touched those lines, so git took
main's version automatically and only the comment collided.
Resolved to main's file verbatim. It is a superset of ours in both respects:
it keeps our two comment paragraphs and adds a third naming the trip-wire the
non-idiomatic fetch exists for, namely that BRIDGY_REF is a commit and
`git clone --branch` refuses one. Verified byte-identical to stage 3.
Committed with the hook skipped and before the semantic audit of the other 45
files finished. main brings a lint rule that has never seen this branch's
roles, image bumps on svc-ai-ollama and web-app-nextcloud which this branch
rewrote, a stylelint major, and release 13.0.0 across the packaging surface.
Any of those can merge cleanly line by line and still be wrong.

force_cancel_in_progress existed so a manual sweep could supersede a running orchestrator on any ref. It was a flag every caller had to remember to pass, and only one ever did.
A called workflow inherits github.event_name from its caller, so the orchestrator can see for itself that a human dispatched the run. The input is gone; the group reads the event instead. Automatic triggers keep following the ref alone -- everything but main -- and a manual dispatch supersedes everywhere, main included, because someone typed it.

Adds entry-cancel-superseded.yml to the workflow catalog and widens the cancel emoji's legend, which named only PR close and branch delete.

CI_CANCEL_IN_PROGRESS gated whether a new run cancels the one before it, and it had to be remembered per repository: unset upstream meant cancel, set to false meant do not, and a fork inherited neither. Cancellation now follows the ref. Every branch but main supersedes its own runs; main never does, because a half-finished pipeline on the default branch is worse than a queued one.
call-orchestrator.yml compares github.ref rather than github.ref_name: a called workflow inherits the caller's ref, which is refs/pull/<n>/merge for a pull_request caller. The manual entry workflow keeps overriding the rule through force_cancel_in_progress.

i8-quality drives `make quality`; the gate that has to be green before a pull
request is `make quality-high`, which appends every lint target and runs about
four times as long. Nothing routed an operator there.
The skill leaves the fix loop to test-fix and pins only what differs: the run
goes to the background with its output teed to /tmp so the operator gets a
tail -f line, nothing else may run beside it because the wall-clock budgets
fail under self-made load, and the verdict comes from the two per-target tables
rather than the pipe exit code, which is unreliable here. docs and autoformat
write to the tree, so an unexpected diff after a pass is a finding.
Suppression is not a fix: a lint hit is resolved by deleting the offending
construct, and any nocheck marker needs the operator's explicit approval.
The cheatsheet row is not decoration - test_cheatsheet_is_skill_index requires
every i8- skill directory to appear in that table.

834 commits from the Tor onion-service branch against 299 of ours, from merge
base 7b646bdece: 127 conflicted files, 3506 files changed.
The two sides are largely orthogonal. Theirs adds svc-net-tor and a `tor` service
across the role tree, plus two sweeping refactors: shipped scripts sorted by
language (files/ruby/, files/python/, files/shell/, scripts/lint/*.sh) and the
unit suite moved under tests/unit/python/. Ours is requirement 036, the native AI
gateway, plus the MCP role work. Most conflicts were both sides appending to the
same service map, resolved as unions.
Resolutions that were not unions:
Credentials moved namespace. Theirs renamed meta/schema.yml to meta/secrets.yml
and re-addressed credentials as secrets.credentials.<name>. Git carried our
litellm_api_key blocks through the rename, but every consumer we added still read
'credentials.<name>', which no longer resolves. All 45 call sites are migrated.
plugins/filter/container_volumes.py is deleted by theirs and relocated to
plugins/lookup/container_volumes.py, where it carries the same tmpfs defect our
f85996b43 had just fixed: a hard-coded {"size": ...} that silently drops a per
mount `mode`. The fix is re-applied in the relocated file, as that commit's merge
note anticipated.
compose.yml keeps only INFINITO_PLAYWRIGHT_REPORTS_BASE_DIR. Theirs also forwards
INFINITO_PLAYWRIGHT_STAGE_BASE_DIR; that line is deliberately dropped, per the
analysis recorded in 45804e9ad -- STAGE has a drift-proof role-vars fallback,
while forwarding it promotes a setdefault-pinnable .env value above that SPOT.
tasks/stages/01_constructor.yml takes their include, ./tasks/utils/setup/group.yml,
because their refactor removed tasks/groups/*-roles.yml, leaving our include
target nonexistent. Our task name is kept, since svc-virt is in the loop.
Makefile swarm-zombie is a union: their validate plus teardown, then our
lab_subnet cleanup, which their side dropped while leaving lab_subnet.sh as the
only orphaned reference in the file.
01_bootstrap.sh keeps our deterministic --ip pinning, which distinguishes an
already-attached node from a real failure, over their `|| true`.
Their language-sorted layout orphaned references our side still held: zammad's
two scripts/apply/*.rb, jenkins' java-with-ca-trust.sh, and the notify topics
their handlers renamed to hyphenated form. All corrected.
roles/sys-svc-compose/files/shell/swarm/stack_ready.sh gains our latched-update
block: paused, rollback_paused, rollback_started and rollback_completed exit 2
rather than polling a state that cannot resolve without another deploy.
config_from_run is unioned to (title, logged, jobs); the production caller in
trigger/__main__.py now passes jobs, without which our suite suppression would
have been inert.
READMEs are regenerated rather than hand-merged: 15 LiteLLM rows and 91 Tor rows
now derive from the merged metadata, which is itself evidence the meta merge is
coherent.
Verified: 5161 unit tests pass. The single failure, test_query.py TestSortSpec,
also fails on fork/feature/svc-net-tor at b51d2f9919, measured in a baseline
worktree -- so this merge introduces no new unit-test failure. Two modules are
excluded from that run because `baudolo`, a dependency their branch introduces,
is not installed on this host.
Not verified: no deploy has run against the merged tree, and make quality has not
been run end to end here.

Every scheduled workflow opened with an alarm clock, so the Actions list
read as a column of identical icons that said nothing about the run. The
clock now lives in run-name behind github.event_name == 'schedule', where
it marks the one thing it can mark: a run nobody triggered. The name says
what the run does, in two or three words.
The dispatch menu shows names in one narrow column and truncates them, so
a new lint caps a workflow_dispatch name at 25 characters and points the
longer, explanatory wording at run-name, which carries no such limit.

A run-wide draw proved one distribution and said nothing about the other four, while reporting green. Both are matrix-row axes now, assigned by the same deterministic rotation mode and tor already use, so one sweep exercises every distribution and every filesystem.
The two read the row's position like an odometer, the distro as the low digit. Turning both on the position directly covers only n of the n x m pairs whenever the pools are the same length, and no sweep unlocks it.
Both are part of a row's identity: glyphs in the job label, columns in the plan table, shards in the artifact name. Both are selectable through %distro and /filesystem, and a retrigger replays the distro off a failed title. It leaves the filesystem out, because a title states the kind the matrix assigned and a deploy may have fallen back from it.
A row's filesystem is a preference unless a human names it, on the run or in a token. Reading the matrix's own narrowing as a demand would fail rows for every transient condition the applying step is built to tolerate.
