The mapper name is host-global and nothing closes it once a drill succeeds: the only teardowns sit inside the recover step and in the post-luksOpen error path. A preserved cluster therefore hands the next round a live 'usbdrill' and cryptsetup refuses with 'Device usbdrill already exists'. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
