- Replace bash-specific [[ ... ]] with POSIX [ ... ] tests
- Use '=' instead of '==' for portable string comparisons
- Fix /bin/sh compatibility (dash) inside docker exec on Debian/Ubuntu
- Prevent DNS test failures caused by non-bash shells
