Four probes returned the number of failures as the process exit code. An exit status is 8 bits wide, so exactly 256 or 512 failures arrive as 0 and the probe reports success. sys-service installs these as Type=oneshot units (roles/sys-service/vars/main.yml:28) and sys-service-terminator starts them with until: result is not failed, so that exit code is the whole health verdict.

The count is not lost: each of the four prints it to stdout a line earlier. Only the exit status stops carrying it, because it cannot.

This makes no CI job green and is not meant to. For any count other than 256 or 512 nothing changes; at those two it turns a false success into an honest failure.

sys-ctl-hlth-disc-space

Description

Monitors disk-space usage and alerts if any filesystem usage exceeds your defined threshold.

Overview

This role disk-space usage monitor; alerts when usage exceeds threshold.

Cosmos

The diagram places sys-ctl-hlth-disc-space in the Infinito.Nexus cosmos: the components it deploys (capabilities), the central services it consumes (dependencies), and its outward reach (federation and bridged external networks).

flowchart LR
    subgraph role [sys-ctl-hlth-disc-space 💻]
        svc_disc_space["disc-space"]
    end

Solid 1:1 edges are fixed relationships; dashed 0..1 edges are conditional (enabled only in matching deployments); red 0..0 edges are turned off in this role. Node markers show the role's deploy modes (💻 host, 🐳 compose, 🐝 swarm); ❌ marks a service that is explicitly turned off, and ⚙️ an Ansible role dependency declared in meta/main.yml.

Features

  • Uses df to gather current usage.
  • Compares against size_percent_disc_space_warning threshold.
  • Sends failure alerts via sys-ctl-alm-compose.
  • Runs on a configurable systemd timer.
