A transient Debian/Ubuntu mirror fetch aborts a docker build layer with exit 100 (it killed the web-app-nextcloud swarm openldap build while the same image built fine elsewhere). New lint under tests/lint/docker/dockerfile/apt/ flags any RUN with apt-get update/install that omits Acquire::Retries; retrofit all 15 apt Dockerfiles with -o Acquire::Retries=3. Both apt lints move into the apt/ subpackage. dnf retries by default and apk has no equivalent flag, so both stay out of scope.

meta/services.yml carried a '# nocheck: single run-once seeder' marker whose token did not match the single-replica rule, so the seeder replicas:1 pin read as unjustified. Correct the token to single-replica (reason unchanged). test_plan.py is an autoformat reflow.

The repair services (rpr-container-soft/hard) emit a syslog 'infinito-kill' marker before they down/restart containers; the rescue collector captures containers/_kill-markers.txt (plus a 6h docker/containerd daemon journal) so a failure artifact names which service stopped containers.

Move the plan table out of the standalone orchestrator Plan job into each
deploy mode's discover job (swarm/compose/host), so the table shows as a
run-summary spot on the orchestrator that will run it. Drop the redundant
Priority column since the Triggered column already carries the star.

The ci trigger (--failed) and status commands matched deploy jobs only by
the compose/swarm glyph, so host-mode jobs (svc-storage-nfs-server etc.)
were invisible and re-triggering a failed run never picked them up. Add
host to the mode set and read the mode glyphs from the symbol glossary
(single source of truth) instead of hardcoding them. Align the host deploy
job titles to the glossary glyph 💻 (were a rogue 🖥️ absent from the
glossary) so they match, with a leading space like compose/swarm.
Priority (⭐) and regular (🔁) jobs were already both discovered (the match
ignores the line prefix); host now works in both. Past runs titled 🖥️ will
not match; a fresh run does.

Back to the pre-swarm-nfs-fix baseline:
- 5c2c8f531 + 985ec7eab: the swarm writer-quiesce DR drill. Deep-dive
attribution of CI run 29715516546 found it the dominant failure source
(17 of 23 jobs): [9b/9] handed-off generation mismatch, [6/9] quiesce
stack-rm network race, [4/9] remote-2-local pull stall, compose discourse
restore duplicate key.
- d6f980574: openproject swarm ingress to web:8080. Carried a leaking
proxy_internal_port lookup (no per-app default) that broke the seaweedfs
dependency front-proxy ('Key web not found'); the bypass-the-Apache-proxy
approach was never verified against downloads/X-Sendfile.
- 1dd153bad: xwiki replicas:1 + mem 3g. Did not resolve the xwiki superadmin
failure (still red in run 29715516546), so it is unverified.
Re-approach each from a clean baseline.

Follow-up corrections to b449f8157 (swarm DR drill):
- export test.env in 06/07 via set -a so the child db restore/probe
scripts inherit BKP_TEST_DATABASES_CSV and BKP_TEST_RESTORE_BIN
instead of aborting at their :? guards before any restore runs
- move db_probe.sh/db_restore.sh into a db/ subfolder (probe.sh,
restore.sh) and update all callers, so they stop tripping the
prefix-grouped-files structure lint
- define TEST_E2E_SWARM_DRILL in group_vars/all and drop the now
redundant default() from test.env.j2 (satisfies the undefined-var
and spot-default lints together)
- fix a mermaid parse error in the drill README: a ; in a
sequenceDiagram note was read as a statement separator
make quality-high green (test + lint phases, 15 targets, 0 failures).

Defer Swarm SQL replay to the disposable DR drill so shared writers such as Discourse are stopped before the destructive restore. Verify the selected generation with before/after database probes while preserving the Compose restore path.
Autoformat collapses now-fitting multi-line calls in the runtime model,
render helper and their unit tests. Format-only, AST-identical.

parallel.sh mirrors its per-target wall-clock table into
GITHUB_STEP_SUMMARY, so make lint and make test render a target/status/
duration overview on the run page. The pytest runner writes junit XML
per suite into build/test-reports and test.yml renders them via
utils/github/pytest_summary.py: headline counts with total time,
failures opened with durations, every test collapsed slowest-first.

The swarm deploy job now renders the same summary page as compose:
role runtimes, a swarm structure section (topology roles plus live node
list and service placement from the manager) and the Playwright table.
The matrix deploy tees its ansible output and prints the compose
matrix-deploy round/PASS markers, so the runtime parser segments swarm
runs per variant round too.
The runtime table unifies tasks and roles with a Type column (tasks
first), appends the recap total row and flags a mismatch between the
parsed sum and the recap total; rows are read from ROLES RECAP sections
only, which removes the double-counted TASKS RECAP task rows. Each role
row carries one column per host: executed, skipped or failed, with
ignored failures downgraded. The Playwright variant column drops the
redundant variant- prefix. Verified against the logs of runs
29656268771 (swarm) and 29620158441 (compose): every segment's parsed
sum matches the recap total within 0.05s.

Atlassian's CDN served the CI runner a 404 for a live page because the probe announced itself as a bot; the reachability question is whether a link works in a browser, so the probe now sends a browser user agent like standard link checkers do. Touching the file pulled it into the changed-scope comment lint, so its narration blocks are gone.

docker manifest inspect is a pure client command and ignores the daemon's insecure-registries list, so against the swarm-local HTTP registry it reported every existing manifest as missing. The push skip therefore never triggered: each deploy re-pulled every external image over the slow lab NAT, re-pushed it, and the final rmi dropped the engine copy again. With the flag the second and every later sync recognizes cached manifests and completes in seconds, proven live on the kept matrix cluster. The test fake_run learns the timeout keyword the pull sites now pass.

The matrix and plan aliases called the query CLI without the .env
loaded, so the strict INFINITO_* lookups died with a KeyError. A new
i8source alias sources scripts/meta/env/load.sh (venv python + .env)
and the six inspection aliases chain it. Relax the alias lint from no
adjacent consonants to at most two so the name passes.

The discovery SPOT (cli.meta.ci.query) now runs one query shape per mode:
compose and host stay whole-role with variants packed into bundles, swarm
ranks and budget-cuts on per-variant rows and emits role#variant tokens
through apps.sh into variant_bundles, so the cut can pick a subset of a
role's variants and the --matrix view is the selection priority.
Replace the --unique flag with visible dna/clone columns (heaviest role
per dna cluster stays ahead of the cut), add the integrated column and
sort, count host bundles like compose, and give the deploy plan an id
counter, per-variant weights and display-width-aware alignment matching
the matrix renderer. Add i8ma*/i8pa* inspection aliases per mode.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com>
cli.meta.ci.query is the single source of truth for the app-discovery
query (filter, coverage-first sort, lifecycle envelope, compose
--unique, INFINITO_MAX_JOBS cap with 'auto'); apps.sh shrinks to one
call through it. cli.meta.ci.plan renders one section per deploy mode
in the query's own order (priority line starred, capped regular line,
then the candidates behind the cut), one row per variant, glossary
symbols in the header, with --cli for fixed-width terminal tables.
New glossary symbols: skip, priority, distros, unavailable.

elastic.co answers the probe's Accept/UA with 406 while the page is
alive; classify it with 401/403/405/415 as server-alive instead of a
dead link.

cli.meta.ci.slots statically and conservatively counts every job the
CI run spawns outside the deploy matrices (reusable workflows opened
recursively, static matrices multiplied out, dynamic ones estimated,
worst entry-*.yml overhead included) and splits the remaining
256-job run budget between compose/swarm/host by the _SHARES weights,
with a per-mode floor and _SLOT_OVERRIDES pins. INFINITO_MAX_JOBS
defaults to 'auto', resolved per mode in apps.sh; the host workflow
drops its hardcoded cap. --matrix renders the budget as a table.

parse_role_statuses collapsed a role's variant shards per mode with
last-write-wins, so one green shard could mask a failed sibling and
--failed retriggers silently skipped the role (gitlab, run 29599179461).
Aggregate worst-first (failure > cancelled > running > success) and let
parse_role_urls link the worst shard.

The six iteration skill wrappers move from infinito-iteration-* to i8-iteration-* (frontmatter, consistency lint prefix, alias and cheatsheet references follow). The new i8-cheatsheet skill routes to the operator cheatsheet and prints its prompt blocks verbatim, or just the block matching a named situation.

The sidecar script contains no shell dollars anymore, so the swarm-only replace escape is dead; tests pin the exec-as-PID1 shape and the dollar-free invariant.

A force_bridge app (matrix's MDAD flavor) deploys as a node-local compose stack and publishes its local port on its host, while openresty runs as an overlay task whose 127.0.0.1 is its own loopback; the readiness probe died on 502. The proxy_pass lookup now resolves networks.local.force_bridge (trust-tagged for the 2.19 templar, hard-failing on an unrendered template instead of silently falling back to loopback) and keys the decision on the real DEPLOYMENT_MODE, since such apps rewrite the effective mode to compose via compose_mode_force. The upstream becomes host.docker.internal:<local_port> rendered as a literal directive, because the request-time resolver cannot see /etc/hosts entries, and the swarm openresty service maps host.docker.internal to the host gateway like prometheus already does. Non-force_bridge renders stay byte-identical.

Rewrite all 254 role descriptions to a uniform noun-phrase schema
(function-first, no leading verb, no trailing period, <=120 chars) and
enforce it via the extended description lint. Rename 12 role README H1
titles for clarity (e.g. Backup Container to Local -> Backup Docker
Volumes, CSS Service -> Corporate Design, NGINX Legal -> Imprint) and
regenerate their Cosmos and Quick Setup sections. Overview table
regenerated.

extend_inventory appended the volume, secrets and nfs backup groups to the test inventory unconditionally, so the DR-drill ran on hosts whose roles declare no backup. For roles whose only volume is backup-disabled (registries, unbound, redis, openresty) the volume drill produced a payload-less generation and failed its non-empty assertion. Each leg now follows the closure of the role that induces it: volume and (transitively, via volume-2-local's secrets_backup consumer) secrets on the app closure, nfs on svc-storage-nfs-server's closure via its nfs_backup consumer. Enumeration confirms no consumer-active role loses its leg; a README documents the group derivation.

The roles overview now lists only tested-envelope roles (lifecycle
alpha/beta/rc/stable/maintenance) and renders below the renamed
'Use it online' section with an introductory sentence. Rename the
former 'Get Started' heading and drop the redundant subsection.

The snapshot directory lives under the dump base (both derive from INFINITO_RESCUE_DIAGNOSTICS_DIR), so copytree copied its growing destination into itself until ENAMETOOLONG; the suppressed error left a local-dumps/<stamp>/local-dumps chain that failed the artifact upload of otherwise green jobs (swapfile, wireguard-plain). The copy now ignores the snapshot's own subtree and every ancestor holding it, which also excludes stale sibling snapshots of the same app; a regression test drives real copytree over the production topology.

Add cli.build.readme.overview (make readme-index / make docs) rendering a
roles overview in the root README: Name, Lifecycle, Homepage, Video,
Description, Integrated with, Install. New info-media lint requires
homepage + video in every invokable role's meta/info.yml (opt out via
'# nocheck: info-media' in meta/main.yml); backfilled 147 roles with
researched, adversarially-verified homepages and official videos.
Retire the 'unsupported' lifecycle value: fold it into 'eol' as a valid
live end-of-life status (shipped but untested/unmaintained) across the
stage lists, symbol glossary, allow-list lint and docs. Retag confluence,
jira, minio, phpldapadmin to eol and magento to pre-alpha.

The gitlab dedicated-postgres failure exhausted all 167 non-superuser slots, but the rescue artifact could not show which clients held them. The collector now dumps pg_stat_activity (per-backend rows, query truncated to 120 chars) and a usename/datname/state connection histogram for every container with postgres in its name, via psql over the container's peer-authenticated socket. Runs only in the failure path and capture() never raises, so a non-postgres name match just records the exec error.

infinito administration deploy ci trigger --failed now dispatches the
failed roles via the priority field and omits the whitelist, so the
priority line reruns them first and the regular line covers the rest.

categories.yml now declares modes defaults per category (deepest match wins, parents apply as fallback): update, drv and svc-net disable compose and swarm (host-hardware and host-networking categories), svc-registry requires both enabled (CI bootstrap infrastructure). role_modes_defaults resolves a role's policy; the new category-modes lint requires every deploy-bearing service entry to declare exactly those modes.<mode>.enabled values explicitly, exempt via '# nocheck: category-modes' on the service key. update, the four drv roles and the three wireguard roles declare their values explicitly; the dict-valued modes meta key is excluded from the category-tree walkers.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com>
ci trigger --run now takes a bare run id and resolves it against the current branch's tracking-remote repo; full URLs keep using the owner from the URL. The aliases no longer build run URLs from INFINITO_FORK_REPOSITORY_URL (stale values produced 404s against the wrong owner): a single i8cifail base passes the id or URL through, and i8cire, i8puci, i8manfail and i8manfails compose it (quality gate / sign-push / scope variants).
