495d23dbde raised an admin context with a fresh in-memory bean, which fixed
hasSaveAccess() and moved the failure one guard further. User::verify_data()
compares $this->id == $current_user->id, and between two unsaved beans that is
'' == '', so a deployment with a single administrator takes the last-admin
branch for the very account CreateUser is in the middle of creating. The branch
reads the legacy $mod_strings, which this request never loads.
That is why the two SuiteCRM jobs of CI run 38818071194 looked like two
failures: the LDAP variant ended in ErrorException "Trying to access array
offset on value of type null" at modules/Users/User.php:1678 and answered
HTTP 500 to POST /login, while the SAML variant took the same verify_data()
failure, avoided the 500 because $mod_strings happened to be loaded, redirected
to index.php?action=Error&module=Users and left no session, so its spec timed
out waiting for the SPA instead. Both are the first login of a persona that has
no local row yet; administrator passes in both because it already has one.
Use the stored system user, which has a real id, so hasSaveAccess() passes,
restrictAdminOnlyFields() early-returns, setIsAdmin()'s reloaded bean resolves
and '' == '1' skips the last-admin branch.
Assign $current_user before calling getSystemUser(), not from its return value.
User::retrieve() runs loadPreferences() after filling the bean, and both
UserPreference::loadPreferences() and reloadPreferences() dereference
$current_user->id unguarded, so retrieving while the caller's anonymous
$current_user is still in place raises "Attempt to read property id on null"
and answers HTTP 500 one line further on. Assigning first also means the only
session preferences key written is the system user's own, never the key of the
account signing in.
The patch header records both failure modes, because the patch outlives this
commit and is applied at image build time with -F0, so whoever reads it next
when a hunk stops matching needs to know what it was for.

SuiteCRM 8.10.2 tightened User::hasSaveAccess() from return true to is_admin($current_user) for a record without an id, and restrictAdminOnlyFields() now forces status Inactive on such a record. CreateUser::create() runs while the browser is still anonymous, because it is the LDAP and SAML auto-create path, so every FIRST login of a directory account ends in RuntimeException: Not authorized and HTTP 500 on POST /login. The pre-existing administrator is unaffected, which is why one persona passes and one fails in both auth modes. 451f63cbdd carried the role from 8.9.1 to 8.10.2; 8.9.1 exempted a new record from both guards.
The patch raises the admin context around that one save and restores it in a finally, rather than relaxing the guards, which stay closed for every request-driven save. create() has a single caller in its own file, createExternalAuthUser, which sets is_admin 0 and external_auth_only 1 before calling, so the raised context cannot mint an administrator. patch runs with -F0 so a hunk upstream has moved fails the build instead of landing somewhere else.
The patch path is derived once in vars/main.yml and reaches the Dockerfile as a build arg, following the role's existing SUITECRM_ENTRYPOINT_SCRIPT_* shape, so the file name is written once.

# Conflicts:
# roles/web-app-suitecrm/vars/main.yml
`make quality-high` rewrote these files on every branch: the SuiteCRM
README and the root role table lacked the Redis service #881 added, the
session path test was not formatted, and an OpenTalk secret description
from #873 was not wrapped.

MAIL_PROVIDER moved to web-app-stalwart without a make docs run, so every generated README still drew Mailu as the email dependency. This is the generator output for the current tree: the root role table and each role cosmos now name Stalwart, Mailu loses its dependents, and Stalwart gains its swarm marker, the Tor dependencies and the 0..0 edges.
The hand-written cosmos of svc-net-tor-smtp gives way to the generated one, which no longer shows the SOCKS5 hop through svc-net-tor because the role does not declare that dependency.

The Production block never set one. inventory provision writes only
ansible_connection for a local host, so DOMAIN_PRIMARY stayed at the
group_vars default of infinito.localhost and the deployment served a zone its
own resolver knows nothing about. CoreDNS templates answers for
INFINITO_DOMAIN_RE and nothing else, so every lookup of the deployment's own
name came back NXDOMAIN.
Mastodon is where that surfaced. tootctl accounts create validates the address
through EmailMxValidator, which resolves MX and then, for the domain itself,
A and AAAA. All six queries returned NXDOMAIN in run 33574056480, the
validator recorded email :unreachable, and the admin account was never created.
Only the guide rows were affected: the matrix rows write
DOMAIN_PRIMARY: "{{ lookup('env', 'INFINITO_DOMAIN') }}" into their host_vars
and resolve fine.
The template now carries DOMAIN=<your-domain> in both the host and the
container form and threads it into --vars, with the container form passing it
through the docker run boundary as well. The two guide runners substitute it
the way they already substitute the SSH key, so the replay deploys under
INFINITO_DOMAIN like every other CI deploy. compose_deploy.sh moves its env
load ahead of the substitutions to have the value; host_deploy.sh had no env
load at all.
A production reader is asked for a domain now instead of silently inheriting
infinito.localhost, which no real deployment wants either. The shipped default
keeps its value: sys-svc-nss documents that *.localhost resolves through the
myhostname NSS module without any zone, and host-side tasks lean on it.

Overview and Features still described SSO as something clicked together
in SuiteCRM's admin panel, and the persona section routed biber through
an oauth2-proxy this role no longer declares (d15716643 replaced the
proxy with SuiteCRM's own SAML login). biber authenticates via SAML with
SAML_AUTO_CREATE; the blocked flag only gates the generic persona
journeys while the LDAP spec still signs biber in from the directory.

Every swarm task of the tor variant died 1.4s after start with exit 8, so the
stack never converged and the drill failed at sys-svc-compose's converge wait
(CI run 32119014832, job 95662863105). The task log held exactly one line: the
entrypoint's "Fetching the IdP signing certificate" - nothing after it.
GNU wget cannot parse a socks5h:// proxy. It aborts before sending anything
with "Error parsing proxy URL: Unsupported scheme.", which src/retr.c maps to
PROXERR and src/exits.c to WGET_EXIT_SERVER_ERROR, i.e. 8 - identical in 1.21
through 1.25. Under -qO- the message is suppressed, which is why the container
log ends mid-sentence. Reproduced locally: the same URL without a proxy exits
4, with the socks5h proxy exits 8.
The proxy was injected container-wide as http_proxy/https_proxy, gated on
Keycloak's domain but applied to every destination - and the CI Tor network
has no exit nodes, so that also dead-ended every clearnet call the app makes.
The three sibling roles that solved this (wordpress, nextcloud, joomla) each
gate per destination host instead. Here the only server-side onion call is the
descriptor fetch itself: the SAML bundle is configured statically, so it needs
no backchannel, and the healthcheck already forces --noproxy '*'. The proxy
now reaches exactly the one client that needs it.
curl's timeouts are pinned so a stalled onion cannot hang the boot: 21
attempts of at most 30s bound the fetch at ~10.5min, inside the 20m
start_period and the ~28min converge budget.

The cosmos generator linked a consumer to its provider only through an
'<role>' in group_names reference or an explicit provides: name. A hard
dependency has neither -- pinning the provider on unconditionally is
exactly what removes the Jinja reference the generator was reading -- so
web-svc-asset's bond to web-svc-file vanished from the diagram the moment
it became binding. Match a service key against the provider's own primary
key from the registry, in both directions.
Services the role turns off drew a solid 1:1 edge, claiming a mandatory
relationship for something that carries nothing at deploy time. They now
render as a red 0..0 edge; edge merging gained a real precedence so a
provider consumed through two keys stays live when only one is off.
Named colour, not hex: a '#' opens an entity code in the mermaid lexer and
turns the whole diagram into a parse error on GitHub.

The role sat behind the oauth2-proxy, which authenticates at the edge and hands
the app nothing: SuiteCRM kept serving its own Angular login after the Keycloak
round trip, so no session ever existed and the app had no logout control. CI run
31927586060 is the only run in which the role's Playwright spec ever executed,
and it failed exactly there - "no in-app logout control reachable on the current
authenticated surface" at personas/utils/logout.js.
SuiteCRM 8.9.1 ships nbgrp/onelogin-saml-bundle and treats AUTH_TYPE=saml as a
first-class firewall in config/packages/security.php:249, so the app can own its
session without a line of PHP from us. flavor: saml turns the proxy off by
itself - is_proxy_gated is `enabled AND flavor == 'oauth2'` - which also drops
the redis session store and the auth_request clamp in the vhost. The role
declares no allowed_groups, so no edge ACL is lost.
Four settings are not cosmetic; each is a failure reproduced against a live
Keycloak 26.7.1 until the login completed:
- SAML_COMPRESS_REQUESTS: the HTTP-Redirect binding requires DEFLATE, and
Keycloak rejects an uncompressed AuthnRequest with a ZipException.
- SAML_USE_ATTRIBUTE_FRIENDLY_NAME=false: the bundle defaults to matching
attributes by friendlyName, which Keycloak's mappers do not set, so not a
single attribute arrives.
- APP_DEBUG is forced to 0 whenever SAML is on: public/legacy/modules/Users/
User.php:944 reads $_POST['ut'] unguarded while creating the user, and with
debug on Symfony turns that warning into an exception the authenticator
reports as a failed login - the account is created and the FIRST login of
every new user fails anyway.
- SAML_SP_ENTITY_ID must equal the Keycloak client's clientId.
The IdP signing certificate is read from the realm descriptor at boot rather
than templated in, so a key rotation needs no redeploy. It uses the same public
issuer URL the browser is redirected to - one address, not two - with the SOCKS
proxy espocrm established for onion issuers. An unreachable IdP or a descriptor
without a certificate aborts the start; both paths are verified, as is the skip
when the variable is absent on LDAP/native deployments.
Verified end to end locally against Keycloak 26.7.1, MariaDB 12.3 and SuiteCRM
8.9.1 from the upstream tarball: session-status reports active:true for the
Keycloak user, auto-created on the first attempt against an empty users table.
web-app-keycloak/TODO.md listed this role for the trusted-header bridge. Nothing
of it was implemented, and SuiteCRM exposes no header entry point at all
(REMOTE_USER / X-Forwarded-User / X-Auth-Request appear nowhere in core/ or
public/legacy), so it moves to the same exclusion as jitsi: use the native
mechanism the app already ships.

The LDAP bullet promised a config_override.php. A grep over the whole role finds
that filename in no file but that README line - what the role actually renders is
ldap.yaml.j2 into extensions/<software>/config/services/ldap/, and that file maps
LDAP attributes onto SuiteCRM user fields rather than switching authentication on.
AUTH_TYPE=ldap in env.j2 does the switching.
The SSO bullet claimed the role does not implement OIDC login flows, while the
Persona contract opt-outs section 60 lines below explains that biber reaches the
app solely through the oauth2-proxy and therefore has no account at all in the
sso: false variants. Both cannot be true. meta/services.yml declares
sso.flavor: oauth2 with origin.host suitecrm, i.e. a proxy that terminates the
Keycloak OIDC flow in front of the app. The wording dates back to the commit that
replaced the role's own OIDC wiring with that proxy and described the result from
SuiteCRM's point of view instead of the role's.

75 commits: the socialhome role reimplemented against the project it actually
deploys, native-login specs for funkwhale and shopware, a window.open IdP
handoff and a settings-link fallback in the shared persona helpers, a swarm
converge budget that gives up on a terminal task, and a long tail of role
fixes.
Eleven conflicts. The shared persona helpers (keycloak.js, logout.js) take the
incoming structure — they gained real behaviour this branch never had — with
this branch's resolveTimeout convention re-applied over it and
confirmKeycloakLogoutIfPrompted re-attached at every return point; without it
the Keycloak SSO session outlives the logout. playwright.config.js keeps this
branch's version: both sides set actionTimeout, but ours routes through an env
var and 15s is too short behind an onion. socialhome's spec takes the incoming
content — 2dbd6eb10 found the role described the wrong upstream project
entirely — and keeps gotoOnion and expectHstsWhenTls, since demanding HSTS over
a plaintext onion is a false failure. Both READMEs were regenerated rather than
merged by hand.
Three collisions arrived with no conflict marker at all, because each side
changed a different place in a different file:
- group_vars/all/18_swarm.yml declared swarm_stack_converge_retries twice.
Same value, so nothing breaks today; editing the documented one would have
silently changed nothing.
- svc-net-tor and web-app-socialhome both claimed 192.168.74.0/24. Socialhome,
the newer role, moves to 192.168.75.0/24.
- web-app-socialhome/meta/schema.yml arrived as a new file, so ef5ea7cb5's
rename never saw it. Its credential would not have resolved and the role
would have deployed with an unusable administrator account.
The incoming specs also needed this branch's conventions: raw timeouts wrapped,
four page.goto calls routed through gotoOnion, a request.get given an
onion-aware timeout, and 21 roles marked playwright-service-flag over the tor
block this branch added to them.
make quality green on the merge result.

The 21 env templates added two commits ago left the persona flags off entirely
in most roles. biber.js has no native-login branch at all -- with
SSO_SERVICE_ENABLED false it never authenticates and then hard-fails at :201
rather than skipping -- and admin.js gates its native fallback on !oidcEnabled.
CI deploys every matrix variant, and variant 1 of these roles pins
services.sso.enabled false, so each of them was a guaranteed red job that had
never been observed because the specs had never run.
Nine flags are static true: chess, confluence and jira pin sso.enabled false in
meta/services.yml with no variant override and provision no native admin, so
there is no login surface in any variant. Eleven follow services.sso.enabled in
the ternary web-app-baserow already uses, for the roles that do have an
SSO-enabled variant where the personas should run. pgadmin and phpldapadmin
lose the credential keys that a permanently blocked persona can never read.
Eleven nocheck rationales cited "the sys-svc-mail integration tests" as the
coverage that justifies not gating on EMAIL_SERVICE_ENABLED. No such tests
exist: roles/sys-svc-mail* contain no tests at all, and
tests/integration/infrastructure/services/test_mailu_dependency.py is a static
YAML parity check. The real delivery coverage is web-app-mailu's own spec,
playwright.spec.js:154. Each is now a fact checkable inside its own role.
Eight more claimed the CSS injector's origin is asserted by the shared CSP
baseline. personas/utils/csp.js:96 bails with `if (!host) continue`, and
injectorBaseUrl("css") reads CSS_BASE_URL, which no consumer role renders --
so the assertion is a guaranteed no-op everywhere. Rewritten to the
mechanically true reason: assertCspInjections resolves the injector through a
computed loop variable, never a literal gate argument, so test_spec_env_gates'
literal-only regex cannot see it.
The CSP hole itself is left standing: rendering CSS_BASE_URL would arm the
injection assertion for every consumer role at once, which is a change of a
different size than correcting a comment.

modes.compose.enabled and modes.swarm.enabled were both false, and a
stack role is forced host=false, so all three test_<mode> columns were
false and the CI discovery filter (test_<mode> == true) dropped the role
from every matrix. It was resolved into the priority whitelist as a new
role and then silently filtered out again — svc-net-tor was only ever
exercised indirectly, as a dependency other roles pull in.
The flag is read solely by the discovery model and the README generator;
nothing in the deploy path consults it, so this has no runtime effect.
meta/categories.yml pins the whole net category to compose/swarm false,
which fits svc-net-wireguard-{core,plain,firewalled}: none of them ships
a compose template. svc-net-tor does, and is the only role in the
category that does, so it takes the category-modes exemption the lint
provides rather than bending the category default for three host roles.
Regenerated READMEs follow: svc-net-tor now carries its mode symbols in
every cosmos diagram that names it as a dependency.

Resolves the runner Dockerfile to the lint-standard Acquire::Retries=3

stricter lints (apt retries in the tor Dockerfile, shell-or-true
markers, comment cleanup).

Standardize the private inventory dir on the fully spelled "production" (matching inventories/development). Update the role README template (SPOT) and regenerate 153 role READMEs plus the admin deploy guide; add inventories/production/ to .gitignore, propagated to .dockerignore via make fix-dockerignore.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
The guide deploys to a .localhost target, where letsencrypt cannot issue (Cloudflare DNS-01 needs a real domain). Default TLS_MODE=self_signed in the generated Production block so the guide uses the working self-signed provider. Document every deploy parameter as a top-level shell var (APP, HOST, TLS_MODE, SSH_PUBLIC_KEY) instead of an inline placeholder.
The compose guide now extracts and runs the whole README block, sourcing params from it (no more -e injection); HOST is forced to localhost. Skip checkout/login under ACT so the guide workflow is iterable locally.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
The README Production block went provision -> deploy with no admin-key step, so user-administrator failed early (authorized_keys empty) for both the Guide CI jobs and any real user copying the README. Add a visible 'provision --vars' step that sets users.administrator.authorized_keys (merged into host_vars) in both Production variants of the role README template, regenerate all role READMEs, and replace the invisible CI payload splice with a visible substitution of the documented <your-ssh-public-key> placeholder.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
The role README Production section now runs provision and deploy in a
single docker call: APP and HOST are shell variables passed via -e,
INVENTORY is the in-container SPOT for the duplicated paths, and the
redundant --vars-file (optional, default None) and --id (the inventory
is already narrowed by --include) flags are gone. All 153 role READMEs
regenerated from the template; test-run.yml executes exactly this block.

Roles declared under meta/main.yml dependencies now appear on both the
Dependencies and Dependents side, labelled with the glossary gear
symbol and connected by a fixed 1:1 edge; the legend explains it. All
role READMEs regenerated.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
Edges now carry their relation: solid 1:1 for fixed consumption, dashed
0..1 for conditional (group-membership gated) consumption. Below every
diagram the generator renders a reading key for the edge kinds and the
node markers, with the glyphs drawn from the shared symbol glossary.
All role READMEs regenerated.

Add cli/build/readme: derives each role README's managed sections from
templates/roles/README.md.j2.tmpl (the Cosmos mermaid diagram from
meta/services.yml, an invokable-gated Quick Setup, and Credits).
The Cosmos diagram shows dependencies, every declared service, and
dependents (roles that consume this one, matched by role name and by
provides provision-name in both directions). Role nodes carry deploy-mode
emoji markers (compose/swarm/host); disabled and shared services get a
stop mark; dependents are capped at 12.
test_readme enforces the Quick Setup body is byte-exact with the template
render. `make readme-generate` and `make cosmos` regenerate; `make cosmos`
also runs inside `make quality`.
Refactor: utils/symbol_glossary.py is the single source of truth for the
word/emoji mapping (unique project-wide), consumed by the complexity
matrix and the Cosmos builder. utils/roles/deploy.py holds role_has_stack
and role_deploy_modes, shared by both so the logic never drifts.
Add `make lint-mermaid` and its CI workflow, rendering every diagram via
mermaid-cli; the render step provisions chrome-headless-shell and unzip
on demand so it works in the minimal container.

Role README Credits now name galaxy_info.author (plain bold or wrapped
in a Markdown link), matched byte-for-byte against the role's own
meta/main.yml, instead of a hard-coded maintainer name. Regenerate all
245 role README Credits blocks to the new 'Implemented by ...' format.

Tooling integration
* add .markdownlint-cli2.jsonc, .ansible-lint, .ansible-lint-ignore
configs (permissive day-1: cosmetic rules disabled, semantic ones on)
* extend scripts/install/lint.sh with generic install_pip_pkg helper +
ensure_ansible_lint / ensure_galaxy_importer / ensure_markdownlint_cli2
ensure_* functions (pip / npm with sudo / --user / --break-system-packages
fallbacks). install_ansible_tools now also pulls ansible-lint and
galaxy-importer; new `markdown` install group.
* extend scripts/lint/ansible.sh to run ansible-lint after the existing
syntax-check.
* add scripts/lint/markdown.sh and scripts/lint/galaxy.sh runners. The
galaxy runner parallelizes via xargs (-P=$(nproc)), prints OK/FAIL per
role, and treats `bare-name dependency` errors as success since our
roles/ tree is not a Galaxy collection layout. All other Galaxy schema
errors still fail.
* Makefile: new lint-markdown and lint-galaxy targets, both wired into
`make lint`.
* CI: new workflows lint-markdown.yml and lint-galaxy.yml; lint-ansible.yml
now installs ansible-core + ansible-lint; ci-orchestrator wires both
new lint workflows into lint-gate.
Galaxy schema fixes
* shorten the canonical `galaxy_info.company` block from three lines to
two ("Kevin Veen-Birkenbach\nhttps://www.veen.world", 45 chars) so it
stays under Galaxy's hard 50-char limit. Updated everywhere: 229 role
meta/main.yml plus _CANONICAL_COMPANY in
tests/lint/repository/test_role_meta_main_galaxy_schema.py.
* shorten 19 over-long role descriptions to <=255 chars.
* add stub READMEs for sys-svc-compose-ca and sys-utils-service-loader.
Markdown baseline fixes
* markdownlint-cli2 --fix run repo-wide (formatting normalization
across CHANGELOG, role READMEs, docs).
* manual MD041 fixes: prepend H1 in 15 files (CHANGELOG, LICENSE,
TODO.md helpers, role README templates, etc.).
* MD025 / MD003 / MD001 / MD032 manual fixes for heading-style and
list-spacing edge cases.
* role README content polish: "## Single Point of Truth (SPOT)" headings
renamed to "## User data resolution" (D3 self-label rule).
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* meta/main.yml: replace every prior platforms variant (Linux,
GenericLinux, Any, Archlinux+rolling/all, distro-specific pins) with
the canonical 5-distro list (ArchLinux, Debian, EL, Fedora, Ubuntu;
versions: [all] each).
* lint: merge tests/lint/ansible/roles/test_meta_company_canonical.py
into tests/lint/repository/test_role_meta_main_galaxy_schema.py and
add a parallel canonical-platforms exact-value check; one file walk
enforces both schema conformance and the two project canonical
exact-values (company block-scalar + platforms 5-distro list).
* roles/<role>/README.md: strip emojis from H1/H2 headings (per
readme_md.md role rule), normalize the Credits block to the canonical
wording (Author/Authors/Author Information aliased; canonical block
appended where absent).
* repo-wide: revert text-drift `GenericLinux` -> `Linux` in role
description fields, README body prose, vars, j2 templates, and the
Makefile (87 occurrences). The lint docstring keeps a single
historical mention.
