kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 5 7162b7bf4c Merge fork/feature/svc-net-tor into feature/ai-agent-employees
834 commits from the Tor onion-service branch against 299 of ours, from merge
base 7b646bdece: 127 conflicted files, 3506 files changed.

The two sides are largely orthogonal. Theirs adds svc-net-tor and a `tor` service
across the role tree, plus two sweeping refactors: shipped scripts sorted by
language (files/ruby/, files/python/, files/shell/, scripts/lint/*.sh) and the
unit suite moved under tests/unit/python/. Ours is requirement 036, the native AI
gateway, plus the MCP role work. Most conflicts were both sides appending to the
same service map, resolved as unions.

Resolutions that were not unions:

Credentials moved namespace. Theirs renamed meta/schema.yml to meta/secrets.yml
and re-addressed credentials as secrets.credentials.<name>. Git carried our
litellm_api_key blocks through the rename, but every consumer we added still read
'credentials.<name>', which no longer resolves. All 45 call sites are migrated.

plugins/filter/container_volumes.py is deleted by theirs and relocated to
plugins/lookup/container_volumes.py, where it carries the same tmpfs defect our
f85996b43 had just fixed: a hard-coded {"size": ...} that silently drops a per
mount `mode`. The fix is re-applied in the relocated file, as that commit's merge
note anticipated.

compose.yml keeps only INFINITO_PLAYWRIGHT_REPORTS_BASE_DIR. Theirs also forwards
INFINITO_PLAYWRIGHT_STAGE_BASE_DIR; that line is deliberately dropped, per the
analysis recorded in 45804e9ad -- STAGE has a drift-proof role-vars fallback,
while forwarding it promotes a setdefault-pinnable .env value above that SPOT.

tasks/stages/01_constructor.yml takes their include, ./tasks/utils/setup/group.yml,
because their refactor removed tasks/groups/*-roles.yml, leaving our include
target nonexistent. Our task name is kept, since svc-virt is in the loop.

Makefile swarm-zombie is a union: their validate plus teardown, then our
lab_subnet cleanup, which their side dropped while leaving lab_subnet.sh as the
only orphaned reference in the file.

01_bootstrap.sh keeps our deterministic --ip pinning, which distinguishes an
already-attached node from a real failure, over their `|| true`.

Their language-sorted layout orphaned references our side still held: zammad's
two scripts/apply/*.rb, jenkins' java-with-ca-trust.sh, and the notify topics
their handlers renamed to hyphenated form. All corrected.

roles/sys-svc-compose/files/shell/swarm/stack_ready.sh gains our latched-update
block: paused, rollback_paused, rollback_started and rollback_completed exit 2
rather than polling a state that cannot resolve without another deploy.

config_from_run is unioned to (title, logged, jobs); the production caller in
trigger/__main__.py now passes jobs, without which our suite suppression would
have been inert.

READMEs are regenerated rather than hand-merged: 15 LiteLLM rows and 91 Tor rows
now derive from the merged metadata, which is itself evidence the meta merge is
coherent.

Verified: 5161 unit tests pass. The single failure, test_query.py TestSortSpec,
also fails on fork/feature/svc-net-tor at b51d2f9919, measured in a baseline
worktree -- so this merge introduces no new unit-test failure. Two modules are
excluded from that run because `baudolo`, a dependency their branch introduces,
is not installed on this host.
Not verified: no deploy has run against the merged tree, and make quality has not
been run end to end here.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 5 caf84b4673 feat(mediawiki): bind AIEditingAssistant to the platform gateway
The extension is declared as an addon gated on services.litellm.enabled and
bridged to litellm, so it exists only where the gateway is deployed.
VisualEditorPlus is declared alongside it because AIEditingAssistant's
extension.json hard-requires it and the mediawiki image does not bundle it;
without it the AI extension fails to load, which makes the two one feature
rather than two.

02_extensions.yml previously ran only when OIDC was enabled, since OIDC was the
only extension consumer. Its gate now also fires on litellm, otherwise a
litellm-only variant installs no extensions at all and the AI surface is
silently absent from a deploy that reports success.

utils/ai_gateway.yml verifies the shared contract and then reads the running
instance back with `maintenance/run.php getConfiguration --format=json`,
asserting that the active provider is open-ai, that the connection URL is the
in-cluster gateway, and that the model is the one the gateway serves. It reads
MediaWiki's own resolved configuration rather than the template that produced
it, so a template that renders correctly but never lands still fails. The
include runs under IS_STACK_HOST because the read goes through the container.

$wgHTTPTimeout is raised to 120s. It is global to every MediaWiki outbound
request and core defaults to 25s, which is below a cold local model's time to
first token, so the first prompt after a deploy would abort. The trade-off is
deliberate and applies to all outbound calls, not only inference.

MEDIAWIKI_EXT_NAMES derives the loaded extension list from the materialised
addons mapping filtered on enabled, so LocalSettings.php.j2 loads exactly what
the variant turned on and there is no second list to keep in sync.

Not verified: none of this has completed a run. AIEditingAssistant.spec.js has
executed zero times, because the addon bridge gate resolved svc-ai-litellm
against the Playwright role list and skipped it, and no log yet shows the
getConfiguration assertion passing. Widening the 02_extensions.yml gate is a
real behaviour change for litellm-only variants, which have never installed
extensions before.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 5 575a5a87ac refactor(layout): sort shipped scripts by language and split the unit suite
Every script a role ships now lives under `files/<language>/`, and the unit
suite is split the same way: `tests/unit/python/` beside new sibling trees for
the other languages. `tests/lint/filesystem/test_role_files_layout.py` keeps it
that way; directories whose shape is dictated from outside carry a `.nocheck`
naming the constraint (Docker build contexts, WordPress mu-plugins, the Joomla
extension, Odoo addons, Playwright suites, the `files/test/test.sh` harness
that `test-e2e-cli` resolves generically).

This cannot be applied in halves. Moving a file and repointing what names it
are the same change: 14 references resolve only at deploy time, so the tree is
green either before or after, never between.

Those 14 were found by static resolution over every reference class, not by the
test suite -- a full `make quality-high` was green while all of them were
broken:

  * 7 `src:` values built from a role variable holding a bare filename
(svc-bkp-remote-2-local, decidim, espocrm, friendica, joomla, pixelfed x2).
The variable doubles as the destination name inside the container, so the
language segment belongs at the call site, not in the variable.
  * `sys-service/tasks/04_base.yml` resolved every consumer's systemd script
    through `first_found(..., errors='strict')` over `files/script.{sh,py}`.
18 roles ship exactly that and have no template fallback: the play would
    have died on each.
  * `sys-front-inj-javascript` fell back to `<role>/files/javascript.js`; the
    interface now reads `files/javascript/javascript.js`.
  * `sys-front-inj-logout/templates/head_sub.j2` built the cache-busting mtime
    path through `path_absolute(... 'files', ...)`.
  * 4 `ansible.builtin.script:` invocations naming a bare command
    (pull.py, prune.sh, set_postgres_superuser_password.sh, ganesha-serve.sh).
  * `dev-python/files/shell/install.sh` pointed at a sibling role's script.

Depth-dependent paths inside the moved trees were bumped accordingly: 59
`parents[N]` computations, 12 relative climbs, and the per-role recover CLI,
whose path `cli/administration/recover/recoverers.py` still assembled from the
pre-move location.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 5 01eec179ee fix(web-app-mediawiki): drop require-dev before composer solves
The extension tarballs ship no composer.lock, so `composer install --no-dev`
degrades to a full solve that still resolves require-dev, as composer states
itself. Both configured addons pull mediawiki-codesniffer 50.0.0 there, which
pins php_codesniffer 3.13.5, and once an advisory landed against that version
composer refused to load it and the solve became unsatisfiable. The extension
install failed with rc 2 without a single line of this repository changing.

Stripping require-dev from the manifest before composer sees it keeps the
solve on the runtime constraints, which is what --no-dev was asking for. The
stripper decodes to objects rather than associative arrays, because an empty
JSON object would otherwise round-trip into an empty array and composer
rejects `[]` where its schema wants `{}`.

The work that runs inside the container moved out of the embedded shell string
into install/helpers/, which removes three levels of quoting from the calling
script and makes both helpers runnable by hand for debugging. The whole helper
directory is copied in, so adding a helper means dropping a file in there and
nothing else.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Fable 5 40e553069d refactor(structure): nest prefix-grouped sibling files into subfolders
Move files that share a delimiter-bounded name prefix within a folder (threshold 2) into a subfolder named after the prefix, dropping the prefix from the filename. Covers plugins/filter (docker, generate, has, merge, get/all), env handler subpackages, utils/roles/entity, utils/tests/swarm/write, role SQL/scripts/templates, keycloak/mailu task-includes, shared tasks/utils/load, and CI scripts. Update every import, query_file/script/include_tasks/src/lookup target, compose bind mount, and python -m path to the new locations.

Extend the prefix-grouped-files lint to threshold 2 with dir-level .nocheck and file-head nocheck opt-outs, and skip groups whose shortest member's stem equals the shared prefix. Keep flat only where a loader forbids nesting: WordPress mu-plugins and the docs/requirements namespace. Ansible filter discovery is recursive, so nested filters stay Jinja-resolvable.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 4.8 91072457b0 refactor(mediawiki): hoist delegate_to to the 02_extensions include site
Every task in 02_extensions.yml repeated delegate_to: MEDIAWIKI_HOST_NODE. Move it to the include_tasks apply: block and drop the per-task lines, satisfying the include-uniform-apply-keyword lint. Functionally identical (apply propagates the keyword to every included task).

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 4.8 66c0ddde9c fix(mediawiki): tcp healthcheck + resolve_host_cid for swarm worker placement
Swarm converge deadlocked because the curl -f healthcheck never passed on an uninstalled wiki (HTTP 500 on an empty DB), so the task never became a running replica and the post-converge schema install never ran. Use the tcp liveness healthcheck (passes on any HTTP/1 response) so convergence gates on container liveness; the ansible install and playwright e2e assert application readiness.

The OIDC extension flow execed the container from STACK_HOST via the manager-only resolve-container-id helper, which yields a non-exec-able remote container id when the task lands on a worker. Route extension install, composer, the sanity check and the DB update through the resolve_host_cid SPOT (MEDIAWIKI_HOST_NODE + MEDIAWIKI_LOCAL_CID, delegate_to the hosting node). Running the update one-shot on the hosting node reuses the real NFS-backed named volume instead of auto-creating an empty local one, and keeps it isolated from the live task cgroup.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 4.8 cddb0dc59b feat(lint): require emoji-prefixed task/step/job names + convert existing
Add tests/lint/repository/test_name_emoji_and_length.py: every Ansible task
name and GitHub Actions workflow/job/step name must start with an emoji (first
char not 0-9/A-Za-z) and be <= 80 chars.

- emit emoji names at the source: cli/build/include generator now writes
  "🔧 setup <app>" / "🚿 flush handlers after <app>" so generated
  tasks/groups/*-roles.yml satisfy the convention too
- convert existing task/step/job/workflow names to emoji-prefixed, choosing a
  task-fitting icon per action (📦 install, ✅ ensure, 🔍 probe, 🥾 bootstrap,
  🚀 deploy, 🧩 service-module load, ⬇️ checkout, 📂 include-routines, ...)

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 4.8 7a738d75e2 fix(web-app-mediawiki): make composer_install_extension mode-aware
In swarm the bare compose name 'mediawiki' does not exist (docker stack deploy suffixes the task id), so the composer-install extension task failed with 'No such container: mediawiki' on the manager. Resolve the live container id via resolve-container-id in swarm and use the bare name in compose, mirroring the already-working install_extension.sh in the same role; 02_extensions.yml passes the mode-aware env.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 4.7 a4cb5b89e1 feat(swarm): swarm-aware container exec via container_address lookup
Adds a mode-aware `container_address` lookup plugin and a
`resolve-container-id` helper script that resolve swarm task IDs at
exec time (compose mode returns bare names unchanged). Migrates ~25
roles + ~28 task files from `command:` to `shell:` so the lookup's
`$(...)` subshell evaluates correctly, and extends `database` lookup
with an `address` key for cross-role DB exec.

Three new lint tests enforce the contract: every container exec
target goes through the resolver, lives behind an IS_STACK_HOST gate
(walks the include graph one hop deep), and uses `shell:` rather than
`command:` when the target is a Jinja reference. Existing nocheck
suppressions on bare-name DB exec sites (nextcloud redis, listmonk,
moodle OIDC, mailu) are replaced with the lookup-based form.

Fixes the systemd Environment= injection in sys-ctl-cln-disc-space
(it never expanded $(...)) by passing STACK / SERVICE_KEY parts and
resolving inside the script. Extracts shopware admin and mediawiki
extension install bodies into dedicated .sh files invoked via env.
Rewrites password-bearing shell tasks to either `| quote` directly or
the `-e VAR=... | quote` + `sh -c '... ${VAR} ...'` env-bridge pattern.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 4.7 2b72d8b550 test(lint): forbid redundant default(...) on module IO in same-task conditionals
Adds tests/lint/ansible/test_no_redundant_default_on_module_io.py which
flags `<reg>.{stdout,stderr,rc} | default(...)` inside `changed_when:`,
`failed_when:`, or `until:` lines. Those conditionals only fire after
the module has actually executed, so the fallback can never apply --
keeping it just hides bugs and noise.

Cleans up the 21 existing offenders across 14 role files. The taiga
upsert-admin task additionally gains a `not ASYNC_ENABLED and ...`
short-circuit so its async-poll-0 path no longer leans on a silent
empty fallback for stdout/stderr; with the short-circuit, the
`default('')` is genuinely dead code.

Cross-task references (a later task reading a registered result of an
earlier task that may have been skipped via `when:`) stay out of scope
and remain a legitimate use of `| default(...)`.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 4.7 f3845323f1 test(lint): cap inline literal script blocks at 12 logical lines + extract offenders
Add tests/lint/repository/test_inline_script_block_size.py: scans
roles/, tasks/, playbooks/ and .github/ YAML for literal block scalars
(`|` / `|-` / `|+`) following the keys `shell`, `command`, `script`,
`raw` (Ansible) and `run` (GitHub Actions). Counts logical lines —
trailing-`\` continuations collapse to one line, blank lines are
ignored — and fails when a block exceeds 12.

FOLDED scalars (`>` / `>-` / `>+`) are exempt: they are one shell
statement after YAML folding, even if they span many source lines for
readability.

The walk goes through `utils.cache.files.iter_project_files(...)` per
`docs/agents/action/testing.md` so the shared project-tree cache is
reused across the lint suite.

The fail message tells the author exactly how to fix: Ansible tasks
get the built-in `script:` module (collapses the task to one line);
GitHub Actions workflows extract into `scripts/github/<name>.sh` and
call it via `run: bash scripts/github/<name>.sh` (or
`_helpers/scripts/github/<name>.sh` when the workflow checks out the
repo into `_helpers/`).

Extract the pre-existing literal-block offenders so the new lint
ships green:

Ansible (script: module, file under <role>/files/)
    web-app-friendica sync_addon.sh
    web-app-fider create_admin_user.sh
    web-app-fider configure_oidc_provider.sh
    web-app-mediawiki install_or_update.sh
    web-app-mediawiki composer_install_extension.sh
    web-app-xwiki debug_superadmin.sh

  GitHub Actions (scripts/github/)
    pick_distro.sh
    guard_release.sh
    resolve_release_inputs.sh
    disk_pressure_report.sh
