kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 5.5 b358a8bb00 fix(web-app-keycloak): append the admin allowlist only when networks are declared
tasks/00_core.yml built webserver_extra_configuration by concatenating the
helper iframes, the admin allowlist and the logout panel template lookups
with `~`. With the shipped empty `services.keycloak.admin.allowed_networks`
the allowlist template rendered no text, Ansible's template lookup returned
None for it, and `~` wrote the word "None" into the auth vhost. OpenResty
then refused `unknown directive "Nonelocation"` in front of the logout
panel location and every deploy with Keycloak went red.

The role now resolves the declared networks once in KEYCLOAK_ADMIN_NETWORKS
and the task appends the allowlist template only when that list is not
empty, the same guard the logout panel uses. The template renders the
restricted /admin location unconditionally from KEYCLOAK_ADMIN_NETWORKS.

With a list that did not contain the deploy host, the deploy still went
red: Keycloak answers `/` with a redirect to `/admin/`, so the CSP health
check and the front proxy probe, which request `/` from the host, got 403
and hlth-csp failed. While the allowlist is active, `location = /` now
redirects to the account console of the platform realm instead, and the
README no longer claims the deploy needs no entry for any reason.

test_admin_allowlist.py rendered the template with plain Jinja, which
yields '' for an empty template, so it could not see the None. It now
evaluates the task's own webserver_extra_configuration expression through
Ansible's Templar and real template lookup, which reproduces
"HELPER_IFRAMES\nNoneLOGOUT_PANEL" on the old task, and covers the root
redirect.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 5.5 c8c3f96bf9 feat(web-app-keycloak): serve /admin only to declared source networks
The Keycloak vhost proxied every path to Keycloak, so the admin console
and the admin REST API under /admin/realms answered any client on the
internet (observed on auth.veen.world and auth.infinito.nexus), and
sys-svc-proxy had no way to limit a path by source address.

services.keycloak.admin.allowed_networks now takes the networks the
operator declares in the inventory. When the list is non-empty, the
vhost gets its own `location ^~ /admin`, rendered through the shared
html.conf.j2 like `/`, with one `allow` per entry and `deny all`. The
`^~` modifier keeps a regex location from taking an admin path over.
The OIDC endpoints under /realms/ and the assets under /resources/ stay
public. The role ships the list empty and adds no network of its own,
so an inventory that declares nothing renders today's vhost unchanged.
kc_admin_networks rejects anything but a list of addresses or CIDR
blocks without host bits, so a typo fails the render instead of the
nginx reload.

The deploy's own admin calls do not cross the vhost: every kcadm.sh
login, including web-app-opentalk's and web-app-mattermost's, runs
inside the Keycloak container against a loopback URL, and a unit test
now pins that. The README names the callers that do cross it (the
OpenTalk controller's user search, onion visitors, the Playwright
suites) and so need an entry. The TODO.md item is dropped.

Closes #1121

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 5 b036f60039 refactor(container_ports): express the remaining published ports through the lookup
The list form could publish a host:container pair and nothing else, so thirteen blocks stayed hand-written: the ones needing a protocol suffix, a port range, the swarm long syntax with mode host, or a container-port-only publish. Each of those duplicated numbers the role already declares in meta/services.yml, which is the drift the lookup exists to remove.

The lookup keeps the list form unchanged for its 93 existing call sites and gains a dict form: transport emits one item per protocol, container 'same' serves the services that cannot remap (STUN/TURN, media relays), mode 'host' emits the long block an edge role needs in swarm so the client address survives the hop, publish 'ephemeral' emits the container port alone, and key names the block for Discourse's launcher file, whose expose: list is what becomes docker run -p there. A declared {start, end} mapping renders as start-end on both sides, so a relay range needs no term of its own.

svc-prx-openresty had no ports block at all and bound 80 and 443 as literals in its template, while torrc.j2 carried a third literal 80 for the hidden service. None of the three referenced the others. openresty now declares the ports, the compose template reads them, and the onion's port 80 comes from ports.onion.http through TOR_ONION_EXTRA_PORTS.

Three blocks stay raw, each with the reason it cannot route through one call: keycloak's sso_proxy maps a published port owned by the consuming role to a container port owned by web-app-keycloak, and matrix's ansible flavor takes element on 8080 and federation on 8048 from the upstream playbook rather than from this repo's ports.internal.

The enforcing lint scanned only files with compose in the name and only double-quoted list items, so nine of the thirteen blocks were invisible to it. It now reads every role template that can carry a ports block, catches unquoted items, protocol suffixes, ranges, flow style and the long syntax, and tracks the block by the indentation of its key: keying on the next line closed the block on anything shaped like a key, which target, published, protocol and mode all are. Under expose: only a real mapping counts, because there the single-segment form documents a container port and publishes nothing.

Verified by rendering all 110 container_ports call sites through the real templar, the real lookup and the real merged applications view.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 5 72a7f39505 fix(sso-proxy): restart the swarm sidecar when its rendered config changes
Snipe-IT#1 (run 34615516009, job 103327034508) failed every login in the
async pass with an oauth2-proxy 500. The sidecar log shows 24x "error
saving redis session: WRONGPASS invalid username-password pair". The swarm
matrix rotated 54 credentials before that pass, svc-db-redis re-rendered
its requirepass and redis_redis was recreated ("about an hour ago"), while
snipe-it_sso-proxy kept running from the first pass ("3 hours ago").

oauth2-proxy reads its config, redis password included, from a bind mount
at start. Its render task notifies compose-up, which in compose is
"compose up -d --force-recreate" and so recreates the sidecar, but in swarm
is "docker stack deploy", which only restarts a service whose spec changed.
A new file behind an unchanged bind mount is no spec change, so the sidecar
never read the rotated password. pihole#1 in the same run shows the compose
side: shared redis, 47 rotated values, the config re-rendered, compose up
recreated the sidecar, and the job passed.

The sidecar now carries a container label with the sha256 of its config,
rendered from the same template sso_proxy.yml writes, with
sso_proxy_application_id supplied through template_vars. A changed config
changes the label and with it the service spec, so stack deploy restarts
only the sidecar; an unchanged config keeps the hash and restarts nothing.
Compose behaviour is unchanged.

A guard test pins the label and requires it to hash the template
sso_proxy.yml renders; it fails against the previous template. The hash is
stable for equal input and changes with a rotated secret, checked with the
template lookup on ansible-core.

Not covered: other bind-mounted configs that embed rotated secrets have the
same swarm exposure.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 5 96408f23a0 perf(healthcheck): let the start window outlast a real boot
start_interval is the cadence while start_period runs, and only while it runs.
Once the window closes the probe falls back to interval, so a service that
becomes ready just after it pays a whole tick anyway and the cadence never
reached it. Six of the seven flavors were shaped that way, Curl worst: a thirty
second window against a one minute interval.

Measured across 151 converge waits in four job logs, 63 sit exactly on a tick
boundary, 36 in the thirty second step and 27 in the sixty second one.
Attributed by application, web-app-seaweedfs is the largest at 1501s over
sixteen waits with a median of 57.7s: it probes with curl and fell straight into
the gap. web-app-zammad probes with connect, whose window is fifteen minutes,
and its 154s median is real boot time with nothing to recover.

So the window moves to ten minutes and the steady state interval to two, and the
flavor overrides that sat below them go: Curl, Wget and Connect lose interval
1m, Http its twenty second window, Nc its ten. Connect keeps fifteen minutes.

Neither number costs anything while a container works. start_period delays
nothing, it only stops failures counting, and interval no longer touches
convergence at all since that hangs on the window alone; it is steady state
load, which drops from 120 probes an hour per service to 30.

Forty six role files follow. Twenty seven declarations go that repeat the new
default or undercut it, an undercut window being the defect itself. Eight
windows longer than ten minutes keep their value and now say why. The literal
blocks and the three Dockerfiles this repository builds spell every timing out,
because outside the lookup an omission takes docker's value and not the
platform's.

A fourth lint rule keeps the shape: start_period must outlast one interval,
checked against the effective values, so raising interval without the window
cannot quietly bring the cliff back.

Two faults in the lint surfaced while building it and are fixed here. It
compared timings as strings, so 600s and 10m read as different values, and it
matched the healthcheck key exactly, so a line carrying a trailing nocheck was
skipped whole, which is how the two swarm-init partials went unexamined.

One regression, bounded. A container that starts and never turns healthy is
neither rejected nor errored, so stack_ready.sh only calls it fatal after three
killed tasks, and each cycle now spans the longer window. That reaches twenty
minutes rather than six, capped there by swarm_stack_converge_retries at 600
with a two second delay, and it lands only on runs that were failing anyway.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 5 d0a8608bfa perf(healthcheck): give every probe the start cadence 42ebd9ea71 added
42ebd9ea71 gave the healthcheck SPOT start_interval, the cadence docker uses
while start_period is still running. A block a template writes out itself
bypasses the SPOT and never gained it. Measured across the repository: 46 such
blocks, 40 of them already carrying start_period, not one carrying
start_interval.

Without it a probe fires only every interval, so a service ready after two
seconds is reported healthy at the next tick and a stack converges no faster
than its coarsest quantisation. That lands in sys-svc-compose's swarm converge
wait, 1551.7s per CI job over 38 stack deploys.

Twenty five of the blocks move into meta/services.yml and render through
container_healthcheck. Each keeps an explicit test rather than picking a flavor:
a flavor would replace the command instead of carrying it across.

The move is lossless by construction. probes.py block() writes
overrides.get(key, default) for interval, timeout, retries, start_period and
start_interval, so a declaration repeating the literal values renders the same
block plus the missing cadence. Checked per block against the old values: the
only difference is start_interval 5s, nothing changed, nothing lost.

Twenty one stay literal. Seventeen interpolate a template variable, whose value
resolves in a scope meta/services.yml does not share, so moving them would be a
rewrite rather than a transcription. Four interpolate nothing and still cannot
move: svc-db-memcached and svc-db-redis probe every second in their swarm
service partial, where a 5s start cadence would report healthy later than the
block already does, and the sys-svc-rdbms and keycloak sso_proxy partials render
for the consuming role's application_id, so their declaration has no single
meta/services.yml to live in. Each carries a nocheck naming its reason.

All twenty one gain start_interval. Three also gain start_period, without which
the key does nothing at all, since it only applies while the start period runs.
That widens their failure tolerance rather than narrowing it: bluesky from 90 to
120 seconds, magento from 50 to 80, the mariadb partial from 180 to 210.

pixelfed spelled its probe as a bare string and now spells it CMD-SHELL. Docker
reads both as a shell command; only the YAML shape changes.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 5 b2dca7cf65 fix(keycloak): declare uidNumber, or the realm silently drops it
Keycloak persists only attributes the declarative user profile declares, and unmanagedAttributePolicy defaults to DISABLED in 26.x. ensure_realm_user.sh:81 writes attributes.uidNumber and kcadm returns rc 0, but the value never lands, so the mattermost-id mapper (web-app-mattermost/tasks/02_keycloak.yml:118) has nothing to emit, userinfo answers 200 without an id claim, and the Mattermost GitLab provider rejects the callback with "Could not parse auth data out of gitlab user object ... user id can be 0". Run 33828309745 fails three Mattermost jobs on it, in compose and swarm alike, and all three Playwright specs are that one failure seen at three downstream points. b0ca8784e2 added the mirroring for exactly this failure and it could not take. LDAP realms are unaffected: the federation writes the attribute, and 08_users/realm.yml runs only when LDAP is off.

The profile push must now precede the seeding that depends on it, so it is synchronous. It measured 0.9 to 1.5s, and its reap sat after the seeding, so with ASYNC_ENABLED true the write would still have hit the old profile. Its register drops out of the reap list with it.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 5 b764b00ba3 fix(keycloak): forward the access token only to consumers that read it
The SSO gate handed X-Forwarded-Access-Token to every oauth2-fronted upstream, so each of the 28 gated roles received a full-scope bearer for the signed-in user while exactly one, n8n, decodes it. The token also grows with the realm's registered origins, and LAM's Apache rejects a header field above 8190 bytes (Moodle#0, run 33689701895).

Consumers now declare services.sso.oauth2.pass_access_token. Without it oauth2-proxy already answers the auth request without the token, and the gate blanks the upstream header rather than dropping the directive, because nginx inherits proxy_set_header as an array and an unset header would let a client-supplied one through. The new lint keeps declaration and use in step in both directions.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 5 eda2dd08c0 fix(keycloak): keep the allowed-origins claim out of the access token
The web-origins scope mapper listed every registered origin in each access token. openresty forwards that token to SSO-gated upstreams, so on a Tor deployment the claim reached 5457 of the token's 8650 characters and LAM's Apache refused the request with 400 (Moodle#0, run 33689701895).

The realm template carries the change, so a fresh import and every CI round get it directly. The reconcile task exists because 04_realm_import.yml only imports when the realm is missing, which would leave the old mapper in place on running installations.

Keycloak resolves CORS from client.webOrigins in DefaultCors.checkAllowedOrigins whenever the token carries no origins, so enforcement is unchanged; that fallback exists since 26.7 and the role pins 26.7.3. Introspection keeps the claim, and nothing in this repository reads it.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 5 7162b7bf4c Merge fork/feature/svc-net-tor into feature/ai-agent-employees
834 commits from the Tor onion-service branch against 299 of ours, from merge
base 7b646bdece: 127 conflicted files, 3506 files changed.

The two sides are largely orthogonal. Theirs adds svc-net-tor and a `tor` service
across the role tree, plus two sweeping refactors: shipped scripts sorted by
language (files/ruby/, files/python/, files/shell/, scripts/lint/*.sh) and the
unit suite moved under tests/unit/python/. Ours is requirement 036, the native AI
gateway, plus the MCP role work. Most conflicts were both sides appending to the
same service map, resolved as unions.

Resolutions that were not unions:

Credentials moved namespace. Theirs renamed meta/schema.yml to meta/secrets.yml
and re-addressed credentials as secrets.credentials.<name>. Git carried our
litellm_api_key blocks through the rename, but every consumer we added still read
'credentials.<name>', which no longer resolves. All 45 call sites are migrated.

plugins/filter/container_volumes.py is deleted by theirs and relocated to
plugins/lookup/container_volumes.py, where it carries the same tmpfs defect our
f85996b43 had just fixed: a hard-coded {"size": ...} that silently drops a per
mount `mode`. The fix is re-applied in the relocated file, as that commit's merge
note anticipated.

compose.yml keeps only INFINITO_PLAYWRIGHT_REPORTS_BASE_DIR. Theirs also forwards
INFINITO_PLAYWRIGHT_STAGE_BASE_DIR; that line is deliberately dropped, per the
analysis recorded in 45804e9ad -- STAGE has a drift-proof role-vars fallback,
while forwarding it promotes a setdefault-pinnable .env value above that SPOT.

tasks/stages/01_constructor.yml takes their include, ./tasks/utils/setup/group.yml,
because their refactor removed tasks/groups/*-roles.yml, leaving our include
target nonexistent. Our task name is kept, since svc-virt is in the loop.

Makefile swarm-zombie is a union: their validate plus teardown, then our
lab_subnet cleanup, which their side dropped while leaving lab_subnet.sh as the
only orphaned reference in the file.

01_bootstrap.sh keeps our deterministic --ip pinning, which distinguishes an
already-attached node from a real failure, over their `|| true`.

Their language-sorted layout orphaned references our side still held: zammad's
two scripts/apply/*.rb, jenkins' java-with-ca-trust.sh, and the notify topics
their handlers renamed to hyphenated form. All corrected.

roles/sys-svc-compose/files/shell/swarm/stack_ready.sh gains our latched-update
block: paused, rollback_paused, rollback_started and rollback_completed exit 2
rather than polling a state that cannot resolve without another deploy.

config_from_run is unioned to (title, logged, jobs); the production caller in
trigger/__main__.py now passes jobs, without which our suite suppression would
have been inert.

READMEs are regenerated rather than hand-merged: 15 LiteLLM rows and 91 Tor rows
now derive from the merged metadata, which is itself evidence the meta merge is
coherent.

Verified: 5161 unit tests pass. The single failure, test_query.py TestSortSpec,
also fails on fork/feature/svc-net-tor at b51d2f9919, measured in a baseline
worktree -- so this merge introduces no new unit-test failure. Two modules are
excluded from that run because `baudolo`, a dependency their branch introduces,
is not installed on this host.
Not verified: no deploy has run against the merged tree, and make quality has not
been run end to end here.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 5 19bfb11292 fix(keycloak): stop caching LDAP federation so a fresh grant is visible
A membership written in LAM crosses two systems before any consumer sees it:
Keycloak reads it from LDAP through this federation provider, then the consumer
syncs its groups claim on the next login. With cachePolicy DEFAULT the first hop
serves a cached federated user, so a grant is invisible to Keycloak -- and
therefore to every OIDC consumer -- until the entry expires. The user
re-authenticates and still does not hold the role they were just given.

NO_CACHE makes every lookup hit LDAP, so the membership lands at the next
authentication. This is the other half of 54aced186: that change had to make its
spec poll rather than read once precisely because of this staleness.

The cost is explicit: this removes a cache from the authentication path, so every
login and group check now performs an LDAP round trip. On this platform
svc-db-openldap sits on the container network and the round trip is cheap, but on
a deployment with a slow or remote directory it would be felt at every sign-in.

Choosing NO_CACHE over a bounded EVICT_DAILY or MAX_LIFESPAN is a judgement, not
a measurement: a grant that silently fails to apply is worse than a slower login.
The better design is an explicit cache invalidation when a grant is written,
which would keep both freshness and caching; it is not built here.

Not verified: no deploy has run with this, and the login-latency cost was not
measured before or after. I also did not confirm this template is the only place
a cache policy reaches the federation provider -- a second component or a runtime
override could still cache.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 5 575a5a87ac refactor(layout): sort shipped scripts by language and split the unit suite
Every script a role ships now lives under `files/<language>/`, and the unit
suite is split the same way: `tests/unit/python/` beside new sibling trees for
the other languages. `tests/lint/filesystem/test_role_files_layout.py` keeps it
that way; directories whose shape is dictated from outside carry a `.nocheck`
naming the constraint (Docker build contexts, WordPress mu-plugins, the Joomla
extension, Odoo addons, Playwright suites, the `files/test/test.sh` harness
that `test-e2e-cli` resolves generically).

This cannot be applied in halves. Moving a file and repointing what names it
are the same change: 14 references resolve only at deploy time, so the tree is
green either before or after, never between.

Those 14 were found by static resolution over every reference class, not by the
test suite -- a full `make quality-high` was green while all of them were
broken:

  * 7 `src:` values built from a role variable holding a bare filename
(svc-bkp-remote-2-local, decidim, espocrm, friendica, joomla, pixelfed x2).
The variable doubles as the destination name inside the container, so the
language segment belongs at the call site, not in the variable.
  * `sys-service/tasks/04_base.yml` resolved every consumer's systemd script
    through `first_found(..., errors='strict')` over `files/script.{sh,py}`.
18 roles ship exactly that and have no template fallback: the play would
    have died on each.
  * `sys-front-inj-javascript` fell back to `<role>/files/javascript.js`; the
    interface now reads `files/javascript/javascript.js`.
  * `sys-front-inj-logout/templates/head_sub.j2` built the cache-busting mtime
    path through `path_absolute(... 'files', ...)`.
  * 4 `ansible.builtin.script:` invocations naming a bare command
    (pull.py, prune.sh, set_postgres_superuser_password.sh, ganesha-serve.sh).
  * `dev-python/files/shell/install.sh` pointed at a sibling role's script.

Depth-dependent paths inside the moved trees were bumped accordingly: 59
`parents[N]` computations, 12 relative climbs, and the per-role recover CLI,
whose path `cli/administration/recover/recoverers.py` still assembled from the
pre-move location.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 5 bae914ac7b feat(web-app-keycloak): show the logout sweep where the visitor is looking
web-svc-logout already reported every domain it swept - into a table inside
the invisible front-channel iframe Keycloak loads. The status existed and
nobody could see it, so the visitor read Keycloak's "you are logged out" and
left while the sweep was still running.

The injected script listens for the conductor's postMessage reports and
renders them on Keycloak's own page: one row per service, a counter, and a
terminal state that names an action rather than describing one - "You can
close this page now" is the question the visitor actually has.

Silence must not read as success. The panel paints itself on the logout path
before any message arrives, and a conductor that never loads leaves a visible
"could not check your other sessions" plus a link, instead of a page that
looks finished. The unload guard is armed from that same moment and released
on done, on a 60s stall, or when the grace period expires without a start -
a guard that outlives its sweep would prompt on every later navigation, and a
stall that only releases silently would leave a spinner that never resolves,
which reads worse than an error. Neither timeout claims the logout finished.

A ❌ carries the manual <host>/logout?manual=1 link the conductor's own table
had; the panel builds it from the reported host, so universal-logout is
untouched. Rows show "Shop" with the full host on hover, state text sits
beside every glyph so aria-live has something to announce, and the border
colour carries the state for anyone who does not read the heading.

The trusted origin comes from lookup('tls', 'web-svc-logout', 'url.base') -
the same expression vars/main.yml:85 uses for KEYCLOAK_FRONTCHANNEL_LOGOUT_URL,
so the framed origin and the accepted origin cannot drift apart. A test pins
that, because they live in different files and the coupling was accidental.

frontchannel.logout.session.required is "true" in the realm import, so
Keycloak must append ?iss= per the OIDC front-channel spec; document.referrer
is the fallback.

Eight mutations were checked against the collapsed script - dropping the
pessimistic render, either timer, the origin check, the manual link, or making
either terminal state claim success all fail the suite.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 5 acc9e25c0f refactor(volumes): one canonical mount surface, context-wired lookups
The mount pipeline was split across two layers: compose_volumes and
container_volumes lived as filter modules that ansible's filter loader
rejected on every start ("has no attribute 'FilterModule'", two warnings
per run), while the same-named lookups wrapped them thinly. The filter
bodies now live inside their lookups (the tor_socks precedent), the
filter files are gone, and the render tests moved next to the lookup
tests.

As lookups they see the templating context, so the application_id term
every call site passed back to its own role is gone too: both lookups
read application_id from context and fail loudly when it is missing.
107 templates and nfs_prep.yml drop the term; the calls collapse to
lookup('compose_volumes') and lookup('container_volumes', service_name).

The container_volumes call is now canonical - four leading spaces,
service_name in the service position, | indent(4) - enforced by a new
lint (test_container_volumes_call_shape). Normalizing the 85 literal
call sites surfaced that erpnext keyed its meta/volumes.yml mounts by
container name instead of compose service key, the only role to do so;
its meta now uses the service keys. wordpress's column-0 call, which
rendered its first line at top level, is indented like every other.

Template logic that only restated meta/volumes.yml is deleted: mailu fed
compose_volumes an extra_volumes dict whose eight names were looked up
from the very meta file compose_volumes reads itself; zammad's init and
railsserver extra mounts were the volumes.yml entries minus the two
services, which the meta now lists (the when-gated OIDC binds included).
Conditionality that meta cannot express stays in code, but in role-local
lookup plugins instead of template loops: matrix_bridge_mounts renders
the per-bridge registration mounts, nextcloud_extra_volumes the
feature-gated whiteboard/recording volumes (type: volume entries are
declared unconditionally by compose_volumes, so gating must happen
before it).

Parity is proven, not assumed: every mechanically rewritten template is
byte-identical to HEAD after the transformation regexes (95/95), and the
semantic roles render identically through the real functions against
HEAD's meta - zammad across six sso/tls polarities, all seven erpnext
services, mailu's top level. make test-lint passes complete.

Also: suitecrm's compose template pins container_extra_hosts with
host_alias (the SOCKS proxy URL host.docker.internal never resolved in
compose+tor), and the five disabled mautrix bridge addons use the
empty-default config lookup so templating the applications dict stops
emitting 125 errors per batch in every CI job.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 5 5137465c6f style: delete every comment the comments-valid policy rejects
3529 invalid comments in 528 files, grandfathered in while the linter
only saw the working-tree diff. Removal ran through the linter's own
collectors, so detection and deletion cannot drift: a comment whose
opener line is blank before it and whose closer line is blank after it
loses all its lines, anything else loses only the comment region, and a
line left holding a bare delimiter goes with it.

Five files keep their comments behind a nocheck marker instead. Four are
upstream configs whose inline docs are upstream's own (mautrix, systemd
journald, nextcloud-oidc-login, MediaWiki). In littlejs the
commented-out entries ARE the deactivation mechanism for an example
tile, so deleting them would delete configuration.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 5 6b6a0ce27e feat(keycloak): import a SAML client for every app that asks for one
The realm carried exactly one client, the shared OIDC one, and no SAML client
existed anywhere in the repo - `flavor: saml` was in the resolver's enum with
zero consumers. Apps that cannot speak OIDC therefore had no way to
authenticate against Keycloak at all; they could only be fronted by the
oauth2-proxy, which authenticates at the edge and leaves the app itself without
a session.

KEYCLOAK_SAML_APPS collects every deployed app whose services.sso.flavor is
saml. It filters stepwise - value.services, then .sso, then .flavor, each
guarded by `defined` - because Ansible's undefined is a Marker(StrictUndefined,
Tripwire): resolving that chain in one selectattr raises for every app without
an sso block instead of yielding undefined, which would have broken the realm
render for every deployment in the repo.

The include is unconditional and the loop emits a leading comma per client, so
the realm needs no branch on the list being empty. That matters: an Ansible
`>-` value that failed to convert would be a non-empty string and a truthiness
guard would then splice a broken clients array.

The client's shape is not guesswork - every attribute comes from a failure
reproduced against a live Keycloak 26.7.1 until a SuiteCRM SAML login completed:
defaultClientScopes is emptied because the built-in role_list scope emits one
Role attribute per realm role and the SP rejects the assertion with "Found an
Attribute element with duplicated Name"; saml.client.signature is false because
the SP does not sign its AuthnRequests; the username mapper's attribute name
comes from OIDC.ATTRIBUTES.USERNAME rather than a hardcoded claim.

The new test renders the complete realm - every include, the role's own
ldap_groups_filter, StrictUndefined - and parses it as JSON for zero, one and
several SAML apps. The file had no test before.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 5 7b57ba4898 fix(keycloak): pin the issuer to the canonical OIDC URL
A bare KC_HOSTNAME combined with KC_HOSTNAME_STRICT=false lets Keycloak derive scheme and port from the incoming request. The browser reaches the realm through the proxy on port 80 while container-to-container calls reach it on keycloak:8080, so the same realm mints two different issuers and userinfo rejects the front-channel token with 'Invalid token issuer'.

OIDC.URL carries the scheme, which Keycloak uses verbatim. It is also the value group_vars/all/11_oidc.yml:19 already hands every client as the expected issuer, so server and clients now agree.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 5 8c7593f43f refactor(container): make container_extra_hosts the only emitter of extra_hosts
extra_hosts is the one compose key a service may not carry twice. The onion SSO
back-channel pin was emitted by a Jinja partial that six roles included, while
six other services wrote the key by hand; nothing stopped a service from
receiving both. YAML then either rejects the document or keeps one list and
drops the other, silently.

The partial becomes plugins/lookup/container_extra_hosts.py, and every pin now
goes through it. Callers add their own entries with extra_hosts=[...], the way
container_volumes already takes extra_volumes=, and the lookup merges them after
the automatic pin and deduplicates in first-seen order. With nothing to emit it
returns an empty string.

The swarm address reasoning from 7b1839681 is preserved and now written down in
the plugin rather than only in that commit: the pin must NOT be host-gateway in
swarm, because that alias resolves per node while openresty publishes :80 with
mode: host under node.role == manager. It carries the stack host's address,
which reaches every task because the compose file is rendered once with the
manager as inventory host. The mode is read as compose_mode_force or
DEPLOYMENT_MODE, not the bare cluster mode, so a role with an override does not
lose its pin and its overlay at once.

Two roles kept a pin that now collides with the automatic one, and both are
resolved the same way -- the hand-written entry stays for clearnet and yields
the .onion case to the lookup, which picks the address per mode. In
web-app-mailu the three conditional entries move into a role-local
mailu_extra_hosts lookup exposed as MAILU_EXTRA_HOSTS, because an eight-line
conditional expression in the template argument is worse than the block it
replaced. It returns its entries as separate results, so vars/main.yml uses
query(); plain lookup() would join them into one comma-separated string.

tests/lint/ansible/jinja/test_compose_extra_hosts_use_lookup.py fails on any
literal extra_hosts: key in a role template, so the invariant survives the next
author who needs a pin. It follows test_compose_ports_use_container_ports_lookup:
the raw construct is forbidden, the lookup is not mandated per service -- a
service with no pins is correct without it, and the swarm branch raises when
facts are absent, which would turn a no-op into a failure surface for containers
that never speak OIDC.

Equivalence checked by rendering rather than by reading: under the trim_blocks +
lstrip_blocks the stack-host action forces for compose.yml.j2, both former call
site shapes (indented, and matrix's column 0) emit byte-identical text to the
new form when the block applies. The no-op case differs -- a whitespace-only
line where the include emitted none -- and yaml.safe_load returns the same
document for both.

31 unit tests; make test-lint 325 passed. Does not touch web-app-espocrm, whose
missing pin is a separate claim and gets its own commit.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 5 f713ba8350 refactor(credentials): address them at secrets.credentials, like every other meta file
meta/schema.yml became meta/secrets.yml, but its content still landed at
applications.<app>.credentials — the one meta file whose payload did not sit
under a root named after the file. Every other topic obeys that rule:
meta/volumes.yml goes to volumes, meta/rbac.yml to rbac. Credentials now go to
secrets.credentials.

The path exists exactly once, in utils/manager/credential_key.py, and
OVERRIDE_SECTION is derived from its two segments rather than spelled beside
them, so the dotted form used by --set and the nested form used by the
inventory cannot drift. Six consumers read it: the loader, the generator, the
CLI override parser, the two emit helpers, and the four lookup validators.

--set now accepts exactly one key shape,
applications.<app>.secrets.credentials.<key>. The three short forms are
rejected instead of guessed at: the same short key names different credentials
on different apps. That also retired primary_app_id, which only existed to
disambiguate them.

Three defects surfaced while wiring this up. _apply_one_role_schema still wrote
to the old root, so an app's own credentials would have moved while its
providers' stayed behind. web-app-pgadmin reads through
lookup('applications', ...).credentials.<key>, an access path no regex over
lookup('config', ...) could see, and would have deployed with an empty postgres
password. And _META_NON_GENERIC_TOPICS still listed 'schema' — a bare topic
name, invisible to any path search — so the generic file-root loop assigned the
raw schema under secrets and the follow-up write landed inside the cached
document, truncating keycloak's four credentials to one for every later
reader.

tests/integration/ansible/lookups/config/test_credentials_roundtrip.py pins both
directions of the seam and the cache invariant that last defect broke.

Existing inventories still carry the pre-rename root; migrating them is
deliberately out of scope here.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 5 e96c752549 Merge fix/playwright/env-template-gate into feature/svc-net-tor
75 commits: the socialhome role reimplemented against the project it actually
deploys, native-login specs for funkwhale and shopware, a window.open IdP
handoff and a settings-link fallback in the shared persona helpers, a swarm
converge budget that gives up on a terminal task, and a long tail of role
fixes.

Eleven conflicts. The shared persona helpers (keycloak.js, logout.js) take the
incoming structure — they gained real behaviour this branch never had — with
this branch's resolveTimeout convention re-applied over it and
confirmKeycloakLogoutIfPrompted re-attached at every return point; without it
the Keycloak SSO session outlives the logout. playwright.config.js keeps this
branch's version: both sides set actionTimeout, but ours routes through an env
var and 15s is too short behind an onion. socialhome's spec takes the incoming
content — 2dbd6eb10 found the role described the wrong upstream project
entirely — and keeps gotoOnion and expectHstsWhenTls, since demanding HSTS over
a plaintext onion is a false failure. Both READMEs were regenerated rather than
merged by hand.

Three collisions arrived with no conflict marker at all, because each side
changed a different place in a different file:

- group_vars/all/18_swarm.yml declared swarm_stack_converge_retries twice.
Same value, so nothing breaks today; editing the documented one would have
  silently changed nothing.
- svc-net-tor and web-app-socialhome both claimed 192.168.74.0/24. Socialhome,
the newer role, moves to 192.168.75.0/24.
- web-app-socialhome/meta/schema.yml arrived as a new file, so ef5ea7cb5's
rename never saw it. Its credential would not have resolved and the role
would have deployed with an unusable administrator account.

The incoming specs also needed this branch's conventions: raw timeouts wrapped,
four page.goto calls routed through gotoOnion, a request.get given an
onion-aware timeout, and 21 roles marked playwright-service-flag over the tor
block this branch added to them.

make quality green on the merge result.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 5 ed0f5af9db feat(playwright): make a blocked persona state why
Blocking a persona removes the only end-to-end proof that a role's auth chain
works. docs/contributing/artefact/files/role/playwright.specs.js.md:146 has
always required each flag to carry a one-line nocheck stating the role contract
that justifies it, plus a matching paragraph in the role's README or TODO.
Nothing enforced it, so 89 flags across 46 roles carried neither.

The lint mirrors test_has_spec's shape and uses is_suppressed_at with
mode="line-above", so the marker must sit directly above its flag -- a blank
line between them breaks the association, which is what the persona helper's
reader will look at. A literal =false blocks nothing and is exempt; the
sso-conditional ternary is not, because it blocks in every variant that pins
services.sso.enabled false.

Writing 89 reasons turned out to be the point. Five roles audited in one pass
blocked for five entirely different mechanisms, all of which read as the same
shrug behind a bare =true: pgAdmin's login id is the account e-mail rather than
the Keycloak username; phpMyAdmin authenticates as the MariaDB root account;
GitLab's seeded password belongs to the built-in root, not the administrator;
Mastodon's tootctl accounts create never sets a password; phpLDAPadmin binds
with an LDAP DN and a different secret. Further out: MediaWiki removes the form
that would accept the Keycloak secret ($wgPluggableAuth_EnableLocalLogin=false)
and bounces anonymous requests back into the IdP, so the unauthenticated
landing the contract asserts can never be observed; Mattermost Team Edition has
no native OIDC, so Keycloak rides the GitLab OAuth slot behind a relabelled
link; MinIO's console returns redirectRules: null and renders no SSO button at
all; XWiki's administrator is an XWikiUsers object with no password property.

Two flags turned out to be unjustifiable and are gone rather than annotated.
web-app-mailu gated PERSONA_GUEST_BLOCKED on services.dashboard.enabled, but
runGuestFlow does one anonymous goto and asserts no signed-in marker -- it
never touches the dashboard. A leftover from a helper version that entered
through the dashboard account menu. And web-app-mig's rationale claimed the
role is an in-app module of web-app-dashboard; it has its own compose stack,
healthcheck and canonical domain, and dashboard is merely a tile consumer.

Nine of the reasons say plainly that the block is not a role property but a gap
in the shared persona helpers -- decidim's sign-out is a data-method link the
generic click cannot activate, fider's SSO entry is a two-step modal, taiga,
wordpress, xwiki, odoo and penpot bind OIDC on a path the personas never visit,
jenkins blocks unconditionally although its OIDC variant looks runnable, and
opentalk's own spec proves both personas work. That list did not exist before;
it is the actual yield here, not the 89 comment lines.

45 pre-existing comments came into the comment lint's scope because this sweep
touched their files -- it only inspects files that differ from HEAD. 28 of them
were the banner "Service gate flags rendered for closure.", every one sitting
above a line that is not a service gate flag at all, orphaned by the
alphabetical re-sort these templates once got.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 5 e3e81e816f refactor(healthcheck): declare probes in services.yml, render them from one lookup
Seven include templates under sys-svc-container decided how a container was
probed, and they read their inputs from template-local `{% set %}` scope.
That scope leaks: a value set for one service silently reached every service
below it, which is how taiga's front and gateway ended up probing a port
declared for a different service, and how bluesky's frontend probed a PDS
endpoint.

Probes now live in utils/docker/healthcheck.py, one class per flavor behind a
PROBES registry, and each service declares its own:

    healthcheck:
      flavor: curl
      path: health/ready
      start_period: 20m

`port_key` picks another entry under ports.internal for the services that
expose their probe elsewhere (keycloak on management, nextcloud talk on
signaling). Without a flavor the entry must carry an explicit test argv, so a
missing declaration fails loudly instead of rendering a probe against nothing.

Rendering HEAD's templates against the new output confirms 49 of 56 call
sites are byte-identical; the remaining seven are covered by an Ansible run.
Three probes change on purpose: erpnext's backend gains a check it never had,
bluesky's frontend drops the leaked PDS path, and msmtp_curl moves from a
hardcoded localhost:80 to the service's own port on 127.0.0.1 like every
other flavor.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 5 0bed81c048 Merge branch 'feature/swarm-nfs' into feature/svc-net-tor
Twelve conflicts, resolved by intent rather than by side.

Six shared one shape: the incoming side adds the new rescue_index.sh call but
drops this branch's `# nocheck: shell-or-true` markers. The markers carry a
lint contract here, so the incoming structure was taken and the markers put
back — dedicated.sh, guide/one.sh, guide/host_deploy.sh, swarm/routine/00_one.sh
and trigger_units.sh, where the incoming version additionally writes the full
journal to a file instead of only echoing a tail.

web-app-matrix keeps HEAD's _synapse_extra_args accumulator (the superset: CA
mount plus the onion case) but adopts the incoming improvement inside it — the
inlined regex_replace gives way to lookup('subnet_gateway').

handlers/__init__.py drops rescue_diagnostics_dir from the old import group
(the incoming side moved it under .infinito.rescue, keeping both would import
it twice) and keeps tor_socks_port, a HEAD-only handler ORDERED_HANDLERS still
needs.

svc-bkp-volume-2-local takes the incoming side throughout: both branches landed
the same feature, but swarm-nfs evolved it — the knob moved from the global
STORAGE_BACKUP_SNAPSHOT_MODE to services.volume-2-local.snapshot_mode, plus the
subvolume helper, 04_snapshot_subject.yml, meta/packages.yml and baudolo 3.2.2.
Three files that left behind were removed: files/baudolo_snapshot.py and the two
worktree tests at their pre-refactor paths, all byte-identical to their moved
counterparts.

Six follow-on failures the merge produced, fixed at the root:

- STORAGE_BACKUP_SNAPSHOT_MODE lost its last reader with the config-lookup
design and is gone from group_vars.
- utils/github/variant_bundle_limits.py sat next to variant_bundles.py, which
the prefix lint forbids; the pair now lives in utils/github/variant/ as
bundles.py and bundle_limits.py, with the -m entry point, the ruff
per-file-ignore, the design-doc link and the mirroring test path updated.
- The incoming WordPress addon spec navigated with a raw page.goto and carried
three bare timeout literals; both route through gotoOnion and resolveTimeout
now, which is what makes navigation survive onion transport.
- Six unmarked `|| true` got a concrete reason each: docker.socket is absent on
distros that ship docker without it, the loop device is already detached when
the probe failed before attaching, and modprobe zfs may fail because the
  /dev/zfs check decides.

make quality green across all four targets. The cold-domains budget test that
had to be waived here passes on its own now — 19d56f07e raises it to 100s.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 5 326f676169 fix(web-app-keycloak): turn the LDAP connection pool off and let the inventory decide
The healthy replica threw `StorageUnavailableException: LDAP connection has been
closed` while the other two were down for an unrelated reason. slapd sets no
idletimeout, so it never closes a connection itself; what cuts them is the swarm
path, where an idle flow through a service VIP loses its conntrack entry without
either side seeing a FIN. The pool then hands the dead connection to the next
caller.

Capping the wait was the obvious remedy and is not available: reading the class
files of the pinned keycloak-ldap-federation jar, the provider knows
connectionPooling, connectionTimeout and readTimeout, and passes only
com.sun.jndi.ldap.connect.pool and .pool.protocol to JNDI. There is no
connectionPoolingTimeout - setting one would have parked a dead key in the
component config. Disabling the pool removes the failure class instead of
shortening the wait on a connection that is already gone; with importEnabled the
directory is not on a hot path, so the extra bind per operation costs little.

The flag lives in meta/services.yml and is read without a fallback, so an
inventory can put the pool back and a missing key fails the deploy rather than
resolving to a guess.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 5 df97bf630f fix(keycloak): pin the JGroups bind address to the role's overlay
The swarm branch turns on clustered Infinispan but never constrains the JGroups
transport, so Keycloak falls back to SITE_LOCAL. Every keycloak task is attached
to four 192.168.x overlays plus the node-local docker_gwbridge, all of them
site-local, so SITE_LOCAL cannot disambiguate and each task publishes whichever
interface enumerates first.

In run 30586213932 two of the three replicas published a 172.18.x gwbridge
address into the jdbc-ping table. gwbridge is per-node and unreachable from a
peer, so those JOINs timed out: ISPN000196 "failed to recover cluster state after
the current node became the coordinator", 25 Infinispan TimeoutExceptions, 17 of
them through StateTransferLockImpl. The cluster split, one replica froze on an
old topology and answered HTTP 500 on the auth endpoint, and the Playwright
sign-out assertion saw "We are sorry... An internal server error has occurred"
instead of the login form. Eight tests failed across three roles, because
web-app-dashboard and web-app-prometheus authenticate against the same Keycloak.

The matcher comes from the subnet_address_regex lookup, so the role's declared
192.168.24.0/24 yields match-address:192\.168\.24\.\d+ - its own overlay address
matches, gwbridge and the sibling overlays do not. The line sits inside the
existing swarm guard, so compose mode is untouched.

This complements 72e275d41 rather than replacing it: that one makes a broken
replica detectable and evicts it from the VIP, this one keeps it from breaking.

Not verified by me: that Keycloak 26.7.0 spells the option
KC_CACHE_EMBEDDED_NETWORK_BIND_ADDRESS and evaluates match-address as a Java
regex. That is read from the upstream documentation, not executed, and it is the
one assumption this change rests on. If it is wrong the container fails to start,
loudly, on the first swarm run.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 5 05004320f0 fix(keycloak): grade the health probe by HTTP status
The tcp healthcheck ends its probe with `cat <&3 | grep -q 'HTTP/1'`, which
matches the status LINE. A backend answering HTTP/1.1 500 therefore passes the
probe exactly like a 200. Swarm's only mechanism for taking a task out of the
VIP is the healthcheck, so a Keycloak replica serving 500s stays in rotation
indefinitely, and with replicas: 3 it catches roughly every third request.

That is what failed run 30586213932's keycloak job. The Playwright artifact's
error context shows the sign-out assertion waiting on the login form while the
page rendered "We are sorry... An internal server error has occurred" on
/realms/master/protocol/openid-connect/auth, and the rescue artifact's container
log shows why the replica was broken: ISPN000196, failed to recover cluster
state after becoming coordinator, followed by 25 Infinispan TimeoutExceptions,
17 of them through StateTransferLockImpl. Eight tests failed across three roles
because web-app-dashboard and web-app-prometheus authenticate against the same
Keycloak.

The status grading lands in a new template rather than in tcp.yml.j2, because
that one has fifteen other consumers whose probe paths were not audited. They
keep the behaviour they have; only Keycloak moves. The new probe reads the
status line with head -n1 and accepts 2xx/3xx only.

Keycloak also moves from health/live to health/ready: liveness answers "the JVM
is up", which a broken replica satisfies, while readiness answers "requests can
be served", which is the distinction the VIP needs.

Readiness returns 503 through schema migration, so the strict probe needs a
start period that outlives it. Measured across all five replica logs of that
run, Keycloak reaches "started" in 13.0-13.2s including migration, so 180s is
roughly thirteen times the observed boot. The deploy gate that waits for
health=healthy allows 600 retries at 2s, i.e. 1200s, so the longer start period
consumes at most an eighth of its budget.

Tool availability verified in quay.io/keycloak/keycloak:26.7.0 (digest
0f198be292568439d700cdbfb893e69a6009bb43a94a06a945b1d3d506c76b13): bash, cat,
grep and head are all present, so the probe's head -n1 resolves.

This fixes detection, not the clustering fault behind it. Why the Infinispan
cluster fails to form is still unknown; a replica that never clusters is now
pulled from the VIP instead of serving errors, but if no replica clusters there
is nothing healthy to route to.

through the embedded DNS, which races container startup and
intermittently hands back a loopback that dead-ends in the task netns
(token exchange refused). The static extra_hosts entry wins in both
modes.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 4.8 8cc0371116 fix(provision): generate policy-compliant become passwords
The provisioned become password doubles as the Keycloak administrator realm password (user-administrator/meta/users.yml) and the guide flow generated it 64-char alphanumeric, so kcadm set-password failed the realm passwordPolicy specialChars(1) on every fresh single-app deploy. Delegate generate_random_password to ValueGenerator.generate_strong_password, the same class-guaranteeing generator every other realm user already gets via the strong_password filter; the realm policy stays strict. Also drop the commented-out Trusted Hosts block from the realm template.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 4.8 15e7647d2f refactor(env): central TZ+LANG base included by every role env.j2
New roles/sys-svc-container/templates/env.j2 sets TZ={{ HOST_TIMEZONE }} and LANG=C.UTF-8. Every role env.j2 includes it at the top; it renders via stack_host_template, the same engine that resolves the includes in compose.yml.j2, so it works in both compose and swarm. TZ/LANG are removed from the individual role env.j2 so each value stays single-source.

New lint tests/lint/ansible/test_env_base_include.py verifies every role env.j2 includes the base and never re-sets a base-owned key (keys derived from the base file).

mattermost and gitea meta/volumes.yml drop the /etc/timezone host-path bind: swarm hard-rejects a task whose bind source is missing on the node (Debian-trixie nodes have no /etc/timezone). TZ now comes from the base env. /etc/localtime bind also dropped; the container timezone follows TZ.

Non-directive comments were removed from the touched env.j2 (banners, restatements, reference URLs, narration) so the changed files pass the comment-lint; only tool directives remain.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 4.8 fc0799883f refactor(structure): move prefix-grouped files into named subfolders
Resolve every 3+-file same-prefix group flagged by the new prefix lint
by moving the files into a subfolder named after the shared prefix and
dropping the prefix from the file names, updating all references:

- utils/env/handlers/infinito_*.py -> infinito/ (dir/, package_cache/
nested a second level); registry imports and the four handler-dir
  globs switched to iter_project_files
- utils/install/lint/ansible_*.py -> ansible/ (aliased imports)
- roles/sys-svc-compose/files/swarm_*.{py,sh} -> files/swarm/
- web-app-erpnext/web-app-zammad files/scripts/apply_*.{py,rb} -> apply/
- web-app-odoo files/sql/{select,update}-* and sql/oidc/{grant,insert,
  select,update}-* -> matching subfolders
- web-app-keycloak tasks/update/05_ldap*.yml -> 05_ldap/ (internal
  includes made role_path-absolute)
- plugins/filter/get_*.py -> plugins/filter/get/ (filter names are the
filters() dict keys, so Jinja usage is unaffected; ansible discovers
  the one-level-deep subdir)

Ansible lookup dirs, addon dirs and .github/workflows keep their flat
layout (the filename is the public id / GitHub only discovers flat).
Unit tests mirror the new source layout.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 4.8 bb8cf66622 fix(web-app-keycloak/sso-proxy): only require provider CA for https OIDC issuers
Over an onion-exclusive deployment the OIDC issuer is plaintext http (.onion has no TLS), so provider_ca_files pointed oauth2-proxy at a CA file that was never mounted into the sidecar — crashing it at startup (connection refused on the auth gate, no redirect to Keycloak). Gate provider_ca_files on an https issuer and mount the root CA into the sso-proxy container for the self-signed https case (the file was previously never mounted, a latent crash there too). Verified over onion: prometheus admin/biber/guest specs 5 passed.
