kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 5 acc9e25c0f refactor(volumes): one canonical mount surface, context-wired lookups
The mount pipeline was split across two layers: compose_volumes and
container_volumes lived as filter modules that ansible's filter loader
rejected on every start ("has no attribute 'FilterModule'", two warnings
per run), while the same-named lookups wrapped them thinly. The filter
bodies now live inside their lookups (the tor_socks precedent), the
filter files are gone, and the render tests moved next to the lookup
tests.

As lookups they see the templating context, so the application_id term
every call site passed back to its own role is gone too: both lookups
read application_id from context and fail loudly when it is missing.
107 templates and nfs_prep.yml drop the term; the calls collapse to
lookup('compose_volumes') and lookup('container_volumes', service_name).

The container_volumes call is now canonical - four leading spaces,
service_name in the service position, | indent(4) - enforced by a new
lint (test_container_volumes_call_shape). Normalizing the 85 literal
call sites surfaced that erpnext keyed its meta/volumes.yml mounts by
container name instead of compose service key, the only role to do so;
its meta now uses the service keys. wordpress's column-0 call, which
rendered its first line at top level, is indented like every other.

Template logic that only restated meta/volumes.yml is deleted: mailu fed
compose_volumes an extra_volumes dict whose eight names were looked up
from the very meta file compose_volumes reads itself; zammad's init and
railsserver extra mounts were the volumes.yml entries minus the two
services, which the meta now lists (the when-gated OIDC binds included).
Conditionality that meta cannot express stays in code, but in role-local
lookup plugins instead of template loops: matrix_bridge_mounts renders
the per-bridge registration mounts, nextcloud_extra_volumes the
feature-gated whiteboard/recording volumes (type: volume entries are
declared unconditionally by compose_volumes, so gating must happen
before it).

Parity is proven, not assumed: every mechanically rewritten template is
byte-identical to HEAD after the transformation regexes (95/95), and the
semantic roles render identically through the real functions against
HEAD's meta - zammad across six sso/tls polarities, all seven erpnext
services, mailu's top level. make test-lint passes complete.

Also: suitecrm's compose template pins container_extra_hosts with
host_alias (the SOCKS proxy URL host.docker.internal never resolved in
compose+tor), and the five disabled mautrix bridge addons use the
empty-default config lookup so templating the applications dict stops
emitting 125 errors per batch in every CI job.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 5 750476b26a feat(lint): give every mount target one spot in meta/volumes.yml
A volume that reaches several services repeated its container path once per
mount. Written out each time it has no single point of truth: a rename that
misses one line still parses, still deploys, and mounts one service somewhere
nobody intended. Nothing fails until that service looks for content which is
not there.

YAML already solves this, and 62722a6ab used it here first -- web-app-openproject
anchors await_migrations_target and aliases it for the second service. Nineteen
roles now follow, and tests/lint/repository/spot/test_volumes_target_single_spot.py
fails on any target spelled out twice. An alias carries no path, so the rule
cannot see it, which is the point.

The conversion was mechanical and is provable rather than reviewed: every file
was rewritten and then reloaded, and any file whose yaml.safe_load result
differed from the original was discarded instead of kept. Nineteen written,
none discarded. Anchors and aliases are a serialisation form; the loader
resolves them before any consumer sees a document.

validate_volumes_meta over all 81 meta/volumes.yml reports no violation.
make test-lint: 328 passed.

web-app-prometheus carries two unrelated deletions: comments that predate this
change and fell under the comment lint once the file was touched. They explained
a 0444 mode and a compose-only bind; both facts are visible in the entries
themselves.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 4.8 10a218ed6e fix(nfs): correct volume ownership for non-root NFS-backed containers
Per-volume nfs uid/gid/mode (erpnext/frappe 1000, jenkins 1000, moodle/www-data 33, ejabberd 9000) so NFS-backed named volumes get the container runtime owner. nfs_prep falls back to default(omit) instead of re-forcing root:0755, which reverted the docker copy-up ownership for non-root images on every redeploy. compose_volumes test asserts the x-infinito-nfs marker.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 4.7 6e49fe74fb feat(volumes): canonical dict-of-dicts meta schema + lookup('volume')
Migrate every role's meta/volumes.yml from ad-hoc dict-of-named-volumes
to a canonical dict-of-dicts schema where the YAML key is the semantic
short name and the entry body carries type / name / source / mounts /
nfs / mode / read_only. The optional 'name:' field is the docker volume
name (defaults to the key); the previous 'docker_name:' field is gone.

What's in this commit (210 paths):

Infrastructure (23)
- New filter plugins/filter/{compose,container}_volumes.py — render the
  top-level volumes:/configs:/secrets: section and per-service mount
blocks from the canonical meta. container_volumes uses the SEMANTIC
name as per-service mount source so it resolves against compose_volumes'
top-level dict key (docker_name as source produced 'undefined volume'
  on swarm).
- New lookup plugins/lookup/{compose,container,volume}_volumes.py.
  volume(application_id, name) returns a normalised single entry;
volume(application_id) returns the whole canonical dict.
- utils/cache/applications.py keeps a sibling registry
_CANONICAL_VOLUMES_BY_ROLE outside the merged applications payload so
raw Jinja source: strings never enter the templar walk (root-cause of
  the 200x cache-miss + recursive get_merged_applications storm).
- utils/roles/applications/mounts.py — schema validator + normaliser;
  list-shape is rejected.
- plugins/lookup/nginx.py: _volume_path_by_name reads canonical directly.
- scripts/tests/deploy/swarm/_context.sh: NFS_VOLUMES extraction handles
both legacy dict and canonical dict shapes.
- roles/svc-prx-openresty/handlers/restart_and_validate.yml: gate
  compose-only validate+reload behind a single when-block; swarm uses
service-update instead (bind-mounts of a FILE pin source inode at
task-create time, so atomic write-tmp+rename leaves the running task
  on a deleted inode).
- roles/sys-svc-compose/tasks/utils/nfs_prep.yml: switch to
  lookup('volume', application_id) | dict2items so NFS subdir
pre-creation works under the new cache split.

Tests (12)
- New strict lints flagging inline mount sections in compose templates,
  single-file bind mounts, and legacy lookup('config', ..., 'volumes.X.Y')
call sites — all volume-mount surfaces MUST flow through container_volumes
  / compose_volumes / volume lookups.
- Integration: test_volumes_compose_chain + test_volume_constants_are_lookups
accept both the legacy and the new lookup('volume', app, 'X').name forms
  during the migration window.
- Unit tests for the new lookup, filter, mounts helper, plus updated
  nginx lookup test.
- Prometheus role-wiring test reads canonical meta for the
  alert_rules.yml bind mount.

Role migrations (175)
- 62 meta/volumes.yml converted to dict-of-dicts canonical shape
- 63 templates/compose*.yml.j2 replace inline volumes:/configs:/secrets:
  with lookup('container_volumes', application_id, '<service>') |
  indent(N) per service + a single trailing lookup('compose_volumes',
  application_id) for the top-level block
- 50 vars/main.yml drop dead volume constants and refactor 23 remaining
  legacy lookup('config', ..., 'volumes.X.Y') to lookup('volume',
  application_id, 'X').Y across 9 roles

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 4.8 346e05692c fix(web-app-erpnext): drop separate assets volume for v16 startup
ERPNext v16 bakes built assets into /home/frappe/frappe-bench/assets and symlinks sites/assets to them on every container start via an entrypoint that runs 'rm -rf sites/assets' under 'set -e'. Mounting assets as a separate named volume nested inside the sites volume made that rm hit a mountpoint (Device or resource busy), crashing the backend and all dependent containers before gunicorn opened its TCP port.

Persist only sites and logs, matching upstream frappe_docker; assets are relinked from the image on each start.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 4.7 c861a46c36 fix(web-app-erpnext): conform meta/volumes.yml + vars to mapping schema
The new meta/volumes.yml schema (enforced by
test_every_volumes_yml_entry_has_mandatory_name) requires each entry
to be a mapping with a mandatory `name:` string. erpnext was still
shipping the legacy plain-string form, which broke the lookup-schema
test in turn — consumer code referencing `volumes.sites` (no
sub-attribute) fails test_every_volumes_lookup_resolves_to_declared_attr.

Promote each volume entry to a mapping with `name:` and append `.name`
to the three matching `lookup('config', application_id, 'volumes.…')`
calls in vars/main.yml. The autoformat also normalized
roles/web-app-mediawiki/meta/volumes.yml's mode quoting from single to
double — included in the same commit because it landed in the same
autoformat sweep that preceded the test run.

kevinveenbirkenbachandClaude Opus 4.7 39c990a7ad feat(web-app-erpnext): ship ERPNext role with OIDC SSO, LDAP, outbound mail
Implements requirement docs/requirements/024-web-app-erpnext.md.

Stack (per frappe_docker v15 single-image multi-role pattern):
- configurator (one-shot bench set-config: db_host/port, three redis URLs
  split by DB number 0/1/2 for cache/queue/socketio, socketio_port, host_name
  HTTPS)
- backend (gunicorn), frontend (nginx-entrypoint.sh), websocket (socketio),
  scheduler, queue-short (--queue short,default), queue-long
  (--queue long,default,short)

Central-service consumer pattern (Decision #7):
- ERPNEXT_DB_ROOT_PASSWORD branches on services.mariadb.shared: central
svc-db-mariadb root pw when true, per-role MariaDB consumer pw when false
- Redis via in-compose `redis` alias, 3-DB-number split for Frappe's logical
  buses
- Explicit erpnext_assets volume mount on every container (image's
VOLUME ['sites/assets'] otherwise creates anonymous volumes that fail the
  hlth-volumes check)

Bench bootstrap (Decision #9):
- bench new-site --install-app erpnext with 30-min hard timeout
- Post-install restart of all long-lived Frappe containers (otherwise the
cached app set serves HTTP 500 on /login)
- TCP-port readiness probe (HTTP would 404 pre-site)
- API-bot user seed + setup_complete=1 via apply_api_bot.py

OIDC (Decisions #4 + #5):
- redirect_uris filter auto-includes ERPNext in the shared Keycloak client
- Social Login Key wired via apply_oidc_settings.py with
  social_login_provider=Keycloak (delete+recreate due to set_only_once),
  custom_base_url=1, relative authorize/token/userinfo paths,
  auth_url_data={response_type:code,scope:openid}, login_via_keycloak
  redirect path
- Group-to-Frappe-role mapping persisted as a frappe.db default; per-login
reconciliation hook deferred to follow-up (documented in README)

LDAP (V3): LDAP Settings doctype applied via apply_ldap_source.py. End-to-end
LDAP login (auto-create Frappe user from LDAP bind) deferred to follow-up;
LDAP-login Playwright specs intentionally absent in v1 (documented).

Email (Decision #8, outbound only): outbound Email Account applied via
apply_email_account.py using db_insert/db_update to bypass Frappe's
deploy-time SMTP socket validation. IMAP inbound deferred to follow-up.

Variant matrix (Decision #11): V1 sso+ldap, V2 all-false, V3 ldap-only.
Three variants verified end-to-end via
`make compose-deploy mode=reinstall apps=web-app-erpnext full_cycle=true
purge=true` — 6 PLAY RECAPs, all failed=0, all Playwright runs
passed-or-skipped with no failures.

Playwright specs: test-landing, test-csp-headers, test-login-administrator
(OIDC), test-login-biber (OIDC), test-login-native-administrator
(break-glass local login, always runs), test-guest-persona. _shared.js
exposes signInViaErpnextOidc + signInViaErpnextLocal.

Repo-wide lint addition: tests/lint/ansible/modules/test_task_name_length.py
caps Ansible task `name:` strings at 120 chars (opt-out via
`# nocheck: name-length`). Fixed two pre-existing violations in
web-app-keycloak/tasks/update/ldap/per_app_mapper_one.yml.
