# macOS

On macOS, use [Lima](https://lima-vm.io/) so the project runs inside a Linux environment instead of directly on the host system.
Use [Homebrew](https://brew.sh/) on macOS to install and manage Lima, then run the normal [Linux-oriented project setup](../setup.md) inside the Lima environment.
This keeps the development workflow closer to the Linux-first setup used by this repository.
